Yes but i think i got a better idea so all in the beginning will do the same as you stated but the day 40 event wont happen but when you redo a save file and there will be a sidecquest where you need to build a time travelling device use it somewhere specific but when you ise it it seems lile nothing happened but you go back to the base youll see your past self and the time machine will activate by itself and you go back to your time in the same spot
