Really nice concept. I loved the realistic graphics but next time you should add settings. Great maze generation system, only problem was that the Q ability was a bit to op for big rooms because it killed all of the enemies. Also i would prefer that the enemies spawned a bit earlier if you could. Good job though!
Dude incredibly underated game! Really fun i loved the artstyle and the gameplay is really polished, the audio was great too! Only lacked music, and also the gameplay was a bit slow, should have made the days go by faster. Loved the upgrades and i believe that if you had made your game playable on the web it would have had way more ratings! Keep up your good work!
One of the greatest games on the jam i have seen.
The art was incredibly impressive and in combination of the music and sounds and the UI really made me feel like i'm a ninja somewhere in Japan.
I really liked the look of the UI and the transitions between levels. In my opinion the hand drawn UI edges really give into the vibe of the game! Good job
The game had tons of content which is insane to think it was made in just 4 days. It is almost a fully fledged game!
21 different levels with tons of different items and abilities. There is also tons of variety of gameplay due to the amount of different enemies you face. Even though i died a couple of times in the first 3 levels but kept going and got the hang of it. I loved the different combos you could make and the satisfaction they give you, specifically one that i personally liked was the dash cut and vital stab. Unfortunately i couldn't go past floor 13 (probably a skill issue on my side), but i will definitely come back when i have the time and play some more!
At first i came to the game page out of respect because of the detailed review you made on my game but then
played the game and liked it a lot!
Really great game and i strongly believe that it is worthy of a feature!
Thank you really from the bottom of my heart for taking your time to write such a detailed response.
Originally my idea was to make the enemies unlockable by a skill tree but i scrapped it up for some reason, maybe for the better. As you said i did not have enough or to be exact i did not dedicate enough time to the balancing and looking back to it now i really regret it.
Regarding the music, i do not have any experience making it but i also decided to give it a try and made one myself, so of course it was horrendous and also i created a bug last minute before submitting that reset the music after death which was in order to fix another issue. Due to that i also removed a great clock ticking sound when running out of time. Most people probably did not notice but i have a toggle music button in the top right screen of the upgrade tree.
Unfortunately i was not able to pin point the cause of the softlock before the jam (at that point i hadn't even experienced it both in the editor and in the web). It is really sad that so many people would have kept playing and enjoying the game but instead it leaves them frustrated.
Number 2. and 3. 5. and 6. are definitely great things to add and thank you for your suggestions.
And again thank you so much for taking your time to write suggestions and improvements! I might continue this game, probably make it a mobile game or try to put it up in a website like crazy games or poki.
Thanks for the comment! I totally agree with both your suggestions but i was to bored to add them. Regarding the shortcuts i think there were enough to make the game not as repetitive and faster but still be costly if they die and also make the player actually play and not just go through a straight line after the get an ability. Also i believe the dash ability is a shortcut by itself since you can pass obstacles faster. About the level design i agree that the dash area needed improvements. Again thanks for your comments and actually playing the game!
