Proficiencies require training time and money. So it can happen anytime they gain the money to do so. However, due to other expenses, they often have to decide as a group when and who will get to train. This means they might have to sacrifice buying that new plate armor or living in a cheaper room. plus its usually a great risk to adventure long enough to gain the required coin to afford to train.

As a DM, you can give this as little or as much extra flavor as you would like.

Firstly, thank you for checking out my game!

Yes the Stun should be dazed. Nice catch.

the table on page 19 has to do with the attack adjustment. So if your throwing oil at a small creature you gain a -1 to your d20 roll.

Ive corrected many of them but there are a lot ill give it another pass.

And yeah I suppose so. I just didnt want so many files to download. Caused a bit of a mess. Ill upload the alt cover in the future.

It is based on the 5 alignment system of Holmes Basic. So no lawful evil, lawful good etc.

Magic *is* difficult to procure from the treasure tables. I made this change because I have level 4 magic users at my tables who still only have their original spells. Its frustrating and unfun for them as this is their only way to actually progress their characters.

Magic users level up the slowest, they have the harshest gear limitations, and the few spells they do get are completely random.

Any changes I make is not without layers of playtesting and player feedback.

As funny as it is, it is indeed a mistake (thank you for pointing it out). I had a lot of errors on vol 2, so I just did a quick update to fix the bulk of them.

huh. The rules on surprise seem to be missing. Great catch ill make sure to add them back in. In the meantime:

You just roll a d6. Monsters and players are surprised 2 in 6 chance(some monsters vary). Light source modifies this. You roll 1 die for each side (or for players you can even do each player) and that is only rolled at the beginning of a combat encounter in which it is pertinent.

Im glad you enjoy it! Im looking to update it within the next couple of months. Just cleaning up some stuff with ODD first.

Yes, since ODD is inspired by 0e, it uses Vancian magic. your character may know 4 spells at level 1 but may only memorize one per day. this gives them a bit more flexibility.

This is all I have to update on: https://blk-feather-press.itch.io/ded-mtl/devlog/988623/update

wonderful little addition, hope others see this as well to get their Halfling Fix!

Well that certainly explains another large uptick in followers/ downloads! Appreciate the boost!

I'm glad to see you enjoy it! I loved Fallen and its supplements!

glad you like it! If you run it let me know what you think so I can improve it. Also, good suggestion with adding the zero, will do!

yes! Im working on getting volume 2: Monsters out very soon. And the final volume, will be for game masters.

looks sick! Can’t wait to run it at my table.

Thank you! Glad it interests you. The game has a version 2 with everything to play in the works, this was an “alpha” build. However, it’s taking me some time because of how many projects I am juggling atm.

I have an update that’s long overdue that I’m working on. I’ll upload a pages when it is done.

i just added a pages version into the downloads

Im doing some playtesting atm, expanding missing areas in the rules and while I’m doing that writing out unit factions. Hopefully I’m hoping to have the rerelease and two factions done sometime in November.

Don’t tempt me so! I’d love to make that. got a lot of projects lined up to burn through first though, including finishing this one! Lol

Thank you! I hope you and your friends enjoy it, I'd love to hear how it goes. I'm always open to feedback!
