You could use an eBook reader for the gameboy like this one here: https://gbatemp.net/download/dan-cotters-ebook-advance.22900/, and then read a txt file of the Bible. I have a repo here: https://github.com/christislord12/kjv-txt-files with txt files of the KJV bible.

No, unfortunately this application requires far more processing power than a gameboy can produce :). I do know that there was one Bible reading application that was made for game boy: https://nintendo.fandom.com/wiki/King_James_Bible.
God Bless You
This is awesome! I am the original developer of the code you modified and I am so happy someone decided to modify it with this Bible verse.
If you reach out to me via my email available on my website (https://christislord12.github.io/) I can explain how to setup HTML for NES games in itch.io. It is really simple.

Try re-downloading one of the 64 bit files. I realized I had forgot to update them to be the correct 64 bit files; they should work now. The 32 bit files are untested and built with a very dated legacy system that is unsupported, and even if they work are quite slow. The 64 bit files work much better. I always like to provide all available binaries, but with this application specifically the 64 bit version just runs so much better.
