Fun little logistics game, I really enjoyed it. Great work!

Really badass puzzle game, a perfect balance of the theme for this jam! I only had a few gripes, but they were worth working through.
My first issue was the reference board. I didn't know the reference board behind the desk existed at the beginning of the game, so instead of referring to the first note I received, I had to alt tab out of the game to access the reference I needed in one of the game's screenshots. I was getting mad because I thought the references I was grabbing were disappearing to nowhere! Then, the character references the board with information on it for a different puzzle. Perhaps he should have said "Ahh, a note, I'm putting this on my reference board just above the desk" the first time he got something. Or, the game could have started with the camera entering the room with a full view of the room before sitting at the desk, and with a different note than the rest (probably a briefing) on the board so you're forced to interact with it before doing anything else.
Anyways, the other gripe I had was with the musical notation. I know how to read music, but it isn't so much use if I completely lack a clef to work with! Is it treble or bass clef? I was having a hard time matching the notes up with the ones on the paper, and I realized I was defaulting to treble because that was the one for the instrument I know, but it could easily be bass clef and I'm none the wiser. Also, some of the notes on that paper were very ambiguous, like I'd see two notes on the thing and they both look kinda like a G, but one note is higher or lower than the other but not all the way off the line so I wasn't sure. It was distracting me and making me a little upset... but nonetheless, I guestimated and still managed to win
The game's premise and then bait-and-switch were hilarious and very creative, and also an incredible intro to the game's most important mechanic, extraordinarily well done and designed! The puzzle-movement half of the game was also very fun and well expanded upon with mechanics that were properly explained. Great work!
Fair enough. I oughtta prepare a more interactive tutorial if I ever do more with this idea.
You hold right click and crank to load your gun, then let go of it to fire at wherever the mouse is. The aim tracks your mouse while you're not cranking anything.
I don't consider myself too much of an artist, so I'm especially glad you liked my artstyle!
Thanks, I concur with your recommendation of delivering the story through other means than a briefing, and something like a radio call/dialogue system as you moved through the facility was what I was hoping to adopt earlier in the jam back when I had more time. Alas, I had to put time into doing all sorts of other things for the game, and here we are.
Very fun once you get the hang of spellcasting. The idea and base gameplay are wicked. It's just so sick to open a spellbook in a game and actually have it be a book on information to cast spells, rather than a menu you dryly interact with to cast spells.
I didn't realize there were different biomes in different locations, so it took a long time for me to find any eyeballs or slimes, As a result, I played most of the game with no powerups whatsoever, which is actually fine if you get good at casting spells while running away in a straight line into a room you already cleared.
The spellcasting system isn't tutorialized so well. The patterns in the books seem to not match the patterns I'm supposed to draw. The text descriptions on the main menu are better, but sometimes are sporadic in what information they do or don't give me (for instance, the description to cast the basic air spell says "draw a line down" but the description for the electric spell doesn't specify which direction to draw the zig-zag in). It took me 20 minutes of consistent effort, educated guessing, and practice going back and forth between the game, spellbook, and main menu help screen before I felt confident about casting the most important spells (fireball, mana regen, and heal). Even then, I still can't consistently cast hex or lightningbolt, usually I'll cast these on accident when I am trying to cast fireball (and they do help me out).
What didn't help is there is no cue for if you successfully cast a spell with insufficient mana. So, at the very beginning there were times I was trying to learn the patterns for the spells, and I thought it wasn't recognizing my drawings, but I was simply out of mana and had no way of knowing other than looking at the indicator (which wasn't my focus because I was focused on drawing the spells).
It's a bit easy to get lost in the dungeon, and it can be a painful process to do so when your movement speed is very low.
Nonetheless, I persisted with the game, got the 100 coins, and beat it, and I had plenty of fun along the way.
very fun little factorio-like, and it's neat to see quantum mechanics tie into the game theme. However, I'm not sure how to know the spin of each tile of a resource. Is it randomly generated repeatedly during gameplay, or does each tile only ever have one spin or the other and it's a matter of figuring out which ones?
Great mod! I'm not very far in and having tons of fun already. I'll recommend this to my friends and we'll probably play it.
Also, I have a reference question.
Which piece of media is the SPOT Soldier from? I started playing as him and I really liked his kit and his character design, as well as the little SPOT bot that shoots for you.
I tried searching "S.P.O.T." or "SPOT soldier" online but I couldn't find anything that looked remotely related to this character outside of this mod.
*EDIT*
Nevermind, I figured it out, turns out S. P. O. T. Soldier is an OC! Very cool!
Forgot to mention, there's a known bug where the very first time you adjust one of the power meters, it sets all the powers for everything except whatever you touched to be zero, so you have to slide all the power meters the first time you do it.
WASD moves, right click makes the ship rotate, Q and E roll, and hold space to fire the laser
