Hello everyone,
I'm excited to share my new release, GRID REMNANT, a quiet and cryptic puzzle game you can play right in your browser on desktop or mobile.
It's part mood poem, part strategic puzzle game. Something to play at night with the hum of static noise as you ponder the weird, esoteric intricacies of a dark future where machine and human are one.
What is Grid Remnant?
In a rain-slicked, neon-noir city, you have 33 moves to leave your mark before the cycle ends. The gameplay is a thoughtful loop of resource management and strategic placement:
- Deploy: Spend Energy to place new districts onto a 5x5 grid. Each district has unique properties and synergies.
- Explore: Spend Energy to investigate placed districts, triggering random events and uncovering clues that piece together a forgotten story.
- Rest: Take a moment to regain Energy, but be wary of who might be watching in the shadows.
The core of the puzzle is Harmony. Placing different districts next to each other can either create a thriving, synergistic sector or a dissonant, inefficient sprawl. Maximizing your Harmony is the key to a high score and a lasting legacy.
Uncover the Past
Beyond the puzzle, there are five cryptic storylines woven into the city's fabric. By exploring the right districts in the right order, you can uncover fragments of memory (an obsolete cyber-optic, a shattered ID chip, a favorite mug) and piece together a final, hidden truth about the city and yourself.
