I feel as though if I remembered that episode (The Winds of Winter), my image woulda been a lot better lol. Damn! Appreciate the reference though, that's very kind!

The green was just by happenstance. I was flipping through materials to try and find one that, told the story of this titan coming into the world. Turns out, the material, Goop, from the Wasteland pack was the winner lmao.

Color theory is always in the back of my mind so I started with the typical orange/teal cinematic look, but once I found goop, I felt that was the color of the story here.

Thanks soo much for the comment and reference to GoT!! Appreciate you!

Hahaha, needless to say with the theme of the jam being , the prophecy, it's clear I didn't put much thought into the image title, haha!

As for the story behind it, I came up with this little 'prophecy reading':

'When the skies reign fire and the reach of a grieving child stretches out towards the heavens, a titan of hope will come forth to answer the call.'

The motivation and idea behind the image was a child standing amongst their village being burned down, and they starred up towards the sky, and from the sky came some kind of "savior". I went through a few different camera angles and environments, but ultimately landed on this one.

Elevating the child and their emotions above all else, and out in the night sky, a titan was called forth from the tears of this crying child.

The real challenge was balancing the village ablaze without being too bright and competing against the titan, so, though I'm not super happy with the final look of the village, it's where it ended.

Thanks for the comment and your time, appreciate you!

Color theory is always in the back of my head. The usual orange and teal combination was where i started and then i came across the goop material and that became the combo with the fire.

Thanks for the comment, appreciate you!

Thank you, thank you! Scale was the goal on this one, wanted to portray something immense, so glad you felt that!  Hahaha, was probably fishing, or reading his kid a bedtime story. haha

That back lighting was a total fluke. Was flicking through different materials to try and find "the visual", the thing that made it start to come to life. I came across the goop material in the Apocalypse Wasteland pack and, immediately was sold and began carving out a visual that captured my imagination.

The water reflection bit was a last minute change. So the water surface is 'SM_Env'OceanPlane' in the Dark Fantasy pack. The largest green on the water is from the directional light (Moon) in my case, and that night shimmer ( wish there was more), is from the 'SM_FX_Electricity' asset in the Dungeons pack. It was close enough to the water to get picked up which was just great cause I wasn't liking the lack of detail in the water.

Appreciate you, thanks for the comment and question!! :)

Heck yeah! I am into the filmmaking side of all of this not game dev, so images are all I look at with my own work. Your use of the 'dutch angle' is a major standout, big fan of the piece, can definitely tell there was thought put into the visual delivery of the story taking place!

Thank you, thank you!! Like some of the entries, I was going after a sort of portal of something emerging from it, but I couldn't quite land the look, so, this guy came from that attempt lol. Appreciate the comment and inspiration from your entry!!

Big fan of this one. Simple, perfectly captures the atmosphere of the source material and just really captivating! Camera positioning is great, let's us in on the scale of the environment and tells a great story of this character walking through it. Great entry!!

Story on this one is great! Love that even without reading the story (which I did read), you've really captured all of it in this one image. I noted on another entry, humor is a weak spot of mine, so I always appreciate seeing others and the creativity around it, this is a very fun entry and image!

Details are awesome and camera placement, giving us the access of the testers is, perfect! Awesome job!

The first upload and it was a banger from day one! I mean.. it's original, screams 'make it true', lol. Great sense of humor and just an awesome render all around!

All out war! Helllll yes! Yeah, just a really nice piece here! Loads of action, and a bunch of moments in this combat to look at. As mentioned by Highlander Labs, the guy getting slammed is absolutely a peak moment here lol, love you added that. Great storytelling, a clash between royals and perhaps the rebels. Super fun render, great job!!

The fact this is, or appears to be gameplay far surpasses my abilities, so kudos on that! I'm a big fan of the subtle details of the footstep debri.  The image has me wondering, who is the person on their knees and what sort of conversation is about to unfold. Awesome entry, hope you see this project or any project you're working on through, the stories of these characters deserve to be told!

I like the intimate moment of this render. Really cool storytelling moment for this character, and cool set design. Good use of foreground, midground, and background as well! Awesome visual separation! Great job on this piece!

The sense of scale on this is really cool! It was my first thought for the jam, creating some kind of smaller world or space with towering normal sized characters, etc. You did this really well. This feels like an MMO moment to, really cool! Great storytelling!

Super moody and that red light does a lot of storytelling! I also like that you put us, the viewer, behind the walls, making us feel like an outsider looking into this powerful moment. Awesome entry, great job!

Big fan of the sci-fi asset usage here! I tried a few myself, but never came up with one I liked, so kudos on this piece! Also love the  storytelling happening here, something to look at on board, and out in space! I also appreciate the 'frame within a frame', perspective this camera shot gives us, tells more story and frames up the events outside the ship environment! Great entry, nice work!

Makes me feel like this could be in an MMO environment. The camera position definitely makes the moment feel like we're witnessing this warrior's journey to obtaining the sword or interacting with it. The water effect is a cool choice as well, makes me wonder if it's maybe a river of mana or some kind of magical energy or liquid. Great work on this!

This has some great storytelling beats! The bottom left character looking out of frame makes me wonder what they're looking or waiting for. Superb set design as well, a fun adventure no doubt! Great entry and use of the assets for this jam!

The horse is cool, obviously. But, I really like the composition of this one. Camera placement captures a really dynamic moment between these individuals. Keeping the more contrasty colors on the side of the hero really sells this cinematic story beat in their adventure. Great render and entry, awesome work!

Really enjoy this image! From the initial development of the main asset to the configuration and placement of the characters, really good work! The liquid pouring down is also really clever and fantastic storytelling! Great render and awesome use of rule of thirds and camera placement to capture this story. Amazing entry.

You did a great job embedding atmosphere into this story! Really sells the cinematic moment of loss and life. Lots happening in here to look at, I tried to also emulate the same thing. Super cool render - great work!

Another great render for scale and environmental storytelling! Camera placement does a lot of heavy lifting here to tell the story of a new child and the village celebrating! Strong use of rule of thirds as well!

Scale, LOVE this! This was a big motivator for me to, communicating scale. I love how you filled it with what appears to be hundreds of people lol. Also really like the use of vertical scaling as well, depth and height really sell this image for scale and epicness! Solid job

Your vision reflection was something I was trying to do for my piece, I couldn't get it to look good, you however nailed it! How did you achieve the portal image effect? Great use of color, obviously very sharp and contrasty, super epic feeling as a result. Also a fan of the camera angle used to capture this story. Awesome work!

Great atmosphere, the bleak fantastical backdrop was a great choice especially to contrast with the portal color. Excellent job to on using some bounce lighting to emphasize light hitting the environment, really feels connected doing that. Awesome entry!

Love the outside the box thinking with this one! Also big of the camera angle chosen to capture this, could have gone a bunch of ways but this is definitely a strong creative choice for the story! Awesome work!

Awesome stylized lighting, really nice touch on the effect of motion happening there. Color usage is of course right on point, super cinematic! I know you said it was a quick entry, but it is a striking image, solid work!

Something I can never quite nail down, humor! Love the original idea on this, super creative! Great entry!

Turned out quite cinematic! Hoping it captured the vision you had for it! Really like the barren wasteland environment and the strong silhouette of the dragon character. The women's angle upwards adds some cause and effect in the image to, really like decision. Great job!

Really cool design here! Love the separation of colors here. The warmth on the left, accented prophecy color in the center and the grey world of the knight! Not sure if that was intentional, but I see that and really like that detail. Great work!

Really cool environment! Excellent material usage on the hologram. Love you opted for a sci-fi world as well. Keep up the good work!

Did a solid job emulating the reference and really making this moment stand out! Great use of lighting, you definitely captured the moment and kept the lighting under control. Great job on this render!

Big fan of the material usage here and the ancient empire pack. I was trying to figure out something for it myself, but came up empty handed. Awesome work on this piece!

Love the "last stand" moment here. Storytelling really communicates a tense moment. Super fun image, nice work!
