Hi thanks for playing and your kind words! I watch you playing a few jam games on stream yesterday, I know you said you probably won't stream any more of the games but did you end up streaming this one or just play off stream?

I love the cutscene that happens before each round! Makes the tiny hero seem so scary only for them to look so small compared to you. I would like to see more enemies per round and some of the attacks felt slow to trigger. Fun overall!

Thank you!

Love the idea based on a trend! Surprised how many different options there were to buy, enjoyed the growing variety and scaling of fights while the art and sound really worked well for the game. Great entry but not fully convinced by the theme

I left my review in the jam submission but I wanted to ask here, how did you get the images to look how they do on the sidebar? I only seem to be able to show or hide. Thanks!

A truly top class jam entry! Being made in under 4 days is seriously impressive and I wouldn't be surprised if this would sell well on Steam. Great work!

Fun concept, looks nice. I like the title, it works really well for the game

A really creative game and an amazing team effort. That is one polished and good looking game all-round! Well done all involved!

A fun little game! I think both of our games suffered a little bit in terms of variety, The game is well made other than getting stuck outside once but I also feel the CRT effect was not needed, it almost hid the lovely pixel art behind so I played with it off. Nice work!

Love the style and trippy effects. Not particularly fun but an enjoyable experience!

A very original and well executed idea! I was shocked by the number of levels and was impressed at the puzzle designs. Amazing work!

What a beautiful little game that warms the soul! Such a creative use of the theme and a clever way to finish. Great job!

Hi, thanks for playing my game!

The orbit gets triggered by a collider (visualised using the atmospheric glow) then it uses some simple trigonometry to calculate how fast and which direction the rocket should rotate around the planet based on different planet variables.

So to put it simply, not true physics but a maths-based rule of thumb!

Good concept for a rewind based game. I loved the main mechanic being forced on you right at the start of the game! Controls could be a little softer with turning ramping up in speed rather being on or off. Overall a good submission!

Hi! Thanks for playing and leaving this comment, I was wondering if I could use this as a quote for my portfolio? Should I also include your name or leave it anon? Thanks!

Hi again! I was wondering if I could use this as a quote for my portfolio? Should I also include your name or leave it anon? Thanks!

Hi, thanks for checking out my game after seeing its early forms! Unfortunately, I did not integrate the generator into this build but that is something I am considering for a full release!

I loved the style of this game it was a cute look for the chaos that was happening to the train. I did find it a bit hard to keep track of all the things I needed to do at times, multiplayer would work wonders here, but it was a fun idea made pretty well! A good team entry!

The web version did have some hitches as stated in the description - if this is made in Godot, I'd suggest triggering all effects off-screen before the gameplay starts so that they get compiled and stored in memory in order to avoid new effects lagging the gameplay!

Hi! Thank you so much for these pixel space generators (planets and backgrounds) as I used them in my GMTK Game Jam entry: Planet Looper (https://benbevan.itch.io/planet-looper). I keep getting compliments over the pixel art and have made sure you're credited throughout because, without you, my game probably wouldn't be as successful as it has been!

The input section did make me laugh... a lot. The game was interesting but it got a bit repetitive and no matter what I did the husband was getting happier even after cleaning up cat vomit and changing a babies nappy

I like the combination of being spun around the object you are protecting and having to change directions to avoid the traps. I think some changes to the way enemies spawn and the shooting and this could be a really solid game. I wish it kept going at the end!

I like how you separate the interactions based on the colour of each character. A really creative take on the theme!

A smart take on snake that uses the looping as a tool rather than something to avoid. It was not clear from just playing the game that I was allowed to pass over myself which I was expecting from a snake like. It did get a bit hard with so much going on especially when Sir Loopsalot spawned, he just pushed me out of bounds. Loved the art for this game though, one of the best looking entries!

I like the look and vibe of this game but think it could have more to do with the theme other than just restarting, I saw someone suggest drawing loops around the enemies which would be a fun mechanic

A catchy aesthetic and fun concept but it does have a few areas to improve. It should be made clear in the controls that you use right CTRL + Arrows as I have seen some others claim it didn't work. Secondly, I found it a bit hard to know when I was moving or selecting the blocks - perhaps just make the lines a bit thicker or had some shadow to elevate the blocks away from the track. Finally, I managed to make the cat ride one block a good distance before having to move to a different block, maybe make it disable moving blocks you're standing on. With some more work this could have some real potential!

A great take on the loop theme! A little frustrating at times yet I only have my self to blame (much like my game!) and the introduction of mechanics with no explanation actually worked really well. Nice one!

Thank you for coming back to rate my submission after being an early play-tester for the game! All feedback is appreciated as I'll be looking to add to the game once the jam is finished. I'll be sure to add your game to my queue!

Ooo point number six is a really good idea that I haven't thought of! I will also see what I can do about those other suggestions though I am a little confused at the snake comparison but maayyybe I do see what you mean! Thanks for playing!

A nice chill game about making roads loop!

There is a lot of content and all expected from an idle game, impressive for the time limit. Would be much more satisfying if the cars to had proper pathfinding, it made the track more of an obstacle especially the zig-zag section.

There is! It says in a little pop up if you hold shift it will fully upgrade as much as you can afford

The best entry into the Metal Man franchise by far! Can't wait for Metal Man 4 - Meat Over Magnet!

In all seriousness, this is a fantastic submission to the jam - probably one of the best and highly likely to win! So creative, funny and an amazing product for a 4 day jam. You seem to work really well as a small studio, please keep making games!

I did have some performance issues on web when compiling particles for the first time, something I have experienced before in my own Godot games. For web builds, I'd suggest triggering these particles in the scene offscreen to get them compiled into memory. Other than that, flawless!

Wow this review means a lot to me! I am so glad you enjoyed, thanks for playing!

I might use this as a review on my portfolio, would that be okay with you and should I include your username?

Thanks for the honest feedback, this is exactly the sort of critique I wanted to hear so don't think you're being rude sharing your analysis! I am really glad you loved the game and want to hear from those who do enjoy it how it can get even better!
Just to cover some of the things you mentioned:

  1.  It was very hard finding the right difficulty balance, I already have plans for some things I could change post jam!
  2. I was going for that quick pick-up-and-play type game where the only goal is to get a higher score. Hopefully some additional content or upgrades will help! A progress system was out of scope for the time limit unfortunately.
  3. There is a setting in the control options for you to turn off "look-ahead", in fact I always turn it off when I play and only added it as someone asked for it.

All that being said, I will get back to working on Planet Looper once the jam is finished so keep an eye out for updates. Following will notify you of any updates I post! Thanks again, and as always... fly safe, astronaut!

Thanks a lot for the kind words! May I ask what would make this game 10/10 for you?

I liked the short time loop and rush to get all of the information as fast as possible. Will need to play it again at some point to get the true ending, I am amazed a game made in 4 days even has multiple!

I'd 100% get the full game of this if it was ever released, one of my top picks of the jam! Amazing atmosphere, genius time mechanic, great writing. This deserves way more love! I think this is and will be the only game I give full marks to! My only suggestion is to lessen the RGB miss-alignment effect as I really like the CRT look (as my own submission has one too!) but using the buttons in the corner made my eyes go funny haha.
