I've contemplated putting the game on steam, but haven't looked too much into it.

I might do it one day but I don't have concrete plans to right now. 

Hopefully the low cost of my game means the VAT isn't too high.

I haven't looked too deeply into this yet. But I've started reading about the process.

Is there a reason you'd want it on steam over itch?

There was a purchase of my game a few days ago that had a weirdly high number of downloads. Then today I saw it's number double.

Normal behavior for my audience is usually 1-2 downloads per purchase but this is now over 100.

Also, this purchase doesn't have data for how it got to my game.

I'm thinking that maybe someone bought the game and is sharing their login somewhere and now a ton of people are downloading it off this single purchase.

Does anyone have any insight or advice?

The game has been a ton of work, but it's  very rewarding knowing people are playing it know!

Darren is great! He was designed to be very alluring in the way that work crushes typically are.

I'm planning to do more with him in some extra content I'm developing now. Same with William. Both appear plenty in the initial release but there's more in store with them in a future update!
