The dithering on your engine is so nice I want to make babies with it.

Thanks for doing the stream!

This was a fun one! good use of theme, nice visuals, great sound and perfect pace.

~ Old Man Bear

I spun it all! Lovely visuals and stand out sounds. It's exactly what it wants to be, on theme and complete.

Charming, goofy and very polished visuals. A fantastic jam entry I am sure will do well.

This has such great potential! Loved the concept, had loads of fun. I think its totally worth giving some more time post jam for some extra game juice (impacts, knockback) and maybe consider try adding a charge mechanic for distance instead of mouse position ( this would make in gamepad compatible )

Keep working it, I had a blast.

What a fantastic game! one juicy hamster. Great onboarding ( my personal weakness ) , absolutely banger music, and lovely art with clever puzzles, no notes. Just praise.

Lovely art, nice story telling, and good use of theme. Well done!

We made SpellSpun with a Balatro / Yahtzee like flavor combines with slot machine spinners.
I have seen  some slot machines, I have seen some spinning wheel but not a lot of "press your luck" Please help me and show me others of the kind that you have found:

🥲 I know, on boarding needs real work.

Thanks for sticking with it. I really appreciate the effort and kind words and also the critical feedback.

You are totally right, i have two systems fightig each other. One makes sure each strand is possible the other is supposed to scale the odds.

I the scaler fails, it doesn't account for the deepening. I knew this when I launched but I figured it would only bother people who already enjoyed the experience enough.

I really should have added an end cap to the game I did not anticipate so any people would actually be grinding to the post game 😂

Thank you so much for breaking my game ❤️

We have a puzzle like game using odds

Will give yours a spin now.

Played your game, your tutorial was better ;)

Cool take on theme, one of the more creative interpretations. The music is a standout. Tutorial made it clear what you can do 😉

Yeah I am dying inside when I see "Looks like fun, but I could not figure it out" ugh. Live and learn, live and learn.

Thanks for the feedback, I really need to work on my onboarding and tutorial. I also did the Character portraits.

Thanks!

I learnt that I suck at making tutorials, even for simple mechanics.

I have added a quick mechanics explainer below the game. Did it work?

If any of ya would be kind enough to help me out of my vacuum and see if it makes sense with the game.

This is a top submission, spinning with love, care and effort. Very well done I had an absolute blast.

We have big plans cooking, and a devlog about our thinking regarding jams and continuity coming soon.

Your criticisms are 100% spot on, thank you for providing them. I am definitely going to be working on my on ramping process. It was last on my list, and that was a major oversight from my side. I am glad you enjoyed the rest of the game. I am gonna give yours a spin right now.

Easy to learn, hard to master. I am a fan of 1 bit so this really hit the mark for me, great use of theme.

If was to nit pick, I would have loved momentum and inertia added to sell the space spinning theme, but that's me being greedy.

Good core to this one, I actually had loads of fun. Also we almost had the same name! Spillspin vs SpellSpun. :)

Freaking great fun! good theme integration and solid mechanics. Really well done.

I feel so bad doing it, but its just part of the meta... right? ... yeah, I am a good person... for sure :)

What a fantastic little game, a near perfect game jam title. theme integration, concept and progression. Honestly a stand out game.

You can upgrade your die faces like cards in our game? its cardlike, card adjacent? close enough? :)

Your backgrounds hand me seeing curves on straight pixels, the key to this is the remarkable restrictions under which you chose to work and its pretty amazing. I am however terrible at it.

This was one steamy show! Loved it. No notes. fantastic!

You crushed it! Thanks for breaking my game! 💪💪

everything you mentioned are shaders. And you use them in everything now, webgl, godot, unity, aftereffects, figma. There are some amazing examples in the wild of amazing shaders, and most of the time som open-source code to get you going.

Glad you enjoyed the game, looking forward to what you do with that infectious enthusiasm.

Thanks for the list, I missed a couple of these and I will check them out.

Feedback is always needed !

Hey I loved your spicy demon girls!

I have one in my game too.

bearhammer.itch.io/spellspun

Thank you, but I am stealing your tutorial skills. I should have introduced the elements one at a time like you did.

Thanks for taking the time, I am sure I will see your game at the top of the lists.
