This is exciting!

Awesome to see! Best of luck!

Hi there, did you end up trying my game becoming death? I think it's got a unique system even if the games not super fleshed out.

Edit..

I should probably link it haha

Hey everyone, I hope you all got great feedback on your games and had a good experience. I read that itch.io tends to have some dodgy ratings. I was naive I didn't even consider it!

Just know if I commented on your post, the feedback was genuine, I didn't hit the bad stuff because come on, it's 5 days that shits hard. And I rated 5 mostly, some times 4. And in the rare 2/3 I did like twice I just didn't comment at all. So take what I said to heart. I genuinely believe you all have what it takes to be amazing devs! Look forward to seeing your games in the future!

I didn't use the browser version as I saw written somewhere you had that it's best done via download. I think it was on the title screen? Yoo I gave you 5 stars for everything! Excited to hear your seriously considering taking it further!

I got 333rd myself, which was odd despite the positive kind words but what can you do? I agree my game wasn't pretty as I made everything myself during the 5 days in clip studio paint. So basically an ms paint game haha.

Not sure if I added this in my post on your game as I honestly criticized very little as it was in a short time span. But the game would greatly benefit from being able to control the character as they fly around. Not well of course, maybe like air control with resistance or control through small tugs or bursts to the rag doll.

Regardless I meant everything I said in my comments. I wish you the best of luck!!! If I haven't already followed I will now as I hope to see an update in the future.

Hey well done! This one really hits close to home. I've been through Anxiety and Depression, I didn't look after myself and ended up bed ridden for months, quit my job and had to re-train my body to digest food. my diet is forever changed quite a bit. I'm now also chasing that dream that was stashed away years and years ago.

Your doing a great job and your work looks incredible for just 5 days. and unreal engine also. I tried but it was too much for me, I used Godot as GDscript just kinda clicked for me.

I'm in a great place now so I apologise not trying to offload or dump anything on ya haha, just that I get it to a degree at least. I'm going to give you a follow, I fell like your going to make your dreams come true!! best of luck!

Great Platforming!

Mayor Lewis is HOT???

3rd ending for me also.

The Squirrel!! is attacking you! yes its true, your my shroom, MUSHROOM MAN MUSROOM MAN.

Great game, looove the art. maybe a future light-hearted souls like in the works hmmmmmmm..?

I noticed the pickups stopped working, and i figured out that they are spawning but they immediately get picked without tallying the bonus. if your on the ground and look up at the tree stump top you can see which pickup gets "picked up" appear briefly, hanging over the boss door area almost. the fix i used was to give distance to the spawn area of the pickup by giving max distance to the Spread spore prompt and for good measure walking backwards straight away, the pickups had time to spawn and this removed the issue of not getting pickups. maybe its consuming the pickup and removing before it can run its code or something? i dunno but you should be able to replicate it!

Also I beat the squirrel but I was left with a repeating spread bar filling up! no ending!

I loved this game, its genuinely great and charming.

My brain goes straight to like a cross between calming zen humming of slowly changing pitch but with an eerie-ness to it, maybe a low droning bass that's hard to hear, because you can kinda feel it inside. Maybe echoing small sounds hear and there. Maybe add a randomized feedback sound when you click an answer.

But that's just my brain haha. I'm sure there are a lot of different ways of approaching it that will give off similar or better effects! Best of luck!! Look forward to seeing how it goes. I will give you a follow!

I had originally wanted to put an optional hidden one that involved climbing a long flight of stairs that you jump off and hit the ground. The result on enemy's being that they get bounced around really high because they are experiencing the force of the fall without the fall so they get launched. Just to add variety and sillyness but unfortunately I barely managed to get the elevator done in the time limit.

Oh my God, thank you so so much for the feedback and kind words. I agree strongly with your suggestions! It's so nice to have all that crunch time appreciated :) I had to deal with corruption issues hours before the deadline after 20 straight hours of design and programming haha.

I appreciate it so much!

I am inspired by many games that are capable of telling the player so much info without offloading tons of text or exposition. I wouldn't say I am there yet but it's always on my mind how best to convey what's needed with as little friction as possible.

I'm going to save your comment for when I'm having a tough day programming :) and it will help me smile, thank you again! <3

Gotta be honest, I tried, I really tried, I'm a big dumb dumb though, trivia is hard! but the whole experience was still Stella, thank you!

Thank you very much! I appreciate it!

This was awesome, 5 Stars. End of Poem.

This was so lovely! I love it, the music choices felt spot on and the aesthetic was spot on too!

Going to play now! I am seeing a lot of web browser games and its honestly super handy, I need to try see if I can do the same haha.

For a first game you really nailed the aesthetic. it feels like you got the bones of a nice survival horror if you go that route. Well done!

The Boss was a nice surprise!!

I am in the same boat haha, I promise I will get to it!

Just submitting a project is hard enough. But with a time constraint, regardless of the final product its really hard and he should be proud of himself!

Hey that was a great time, I really enjoyed it! I can see this getting addicting with a bit more love. but for 5 days that's really impressive!!

Now, for some unsolicited ideas haha. I'm sure you already have these ideas and tons more for the future releases but juuuuust in case, I couldn't help but think of stuff that would be cool!

Okay!

1. I was thinking it would be cool to give your life a bit more meaning, as of at the moment.. it feels like how well I perform matters less. so the thought was, what if the upgrades you chose would receive a small buff/added effect/percentage increase or something depending on how much health or life force you have! that would give more incentive to play conservatively with your health.

2. On the other hand, its always fun to have a build that relies on the opposite of something you have established, so instead of conserving health, have skills or spells/weapons that take health in order to be used, thus locking you out of the health benefits but they make up for it in other ways.

3. higher tier skills depending on how far you get before sacrificing? maybe??

4.Secrets!! maybe even a key you can unlock with a sacrifice after a certain wave is reached?

5. I assume when you die without a sacrifice your back at square one? If so then have like goal waves to reach also.

Apologies if the message comes off as rude as that is not my intention. I just got so excited playing this game that my mind was just envisioning things. I hope to play more in the future! you all did a wonderful job!!

It plays really well! Reminds me a lot of the game Pain back on the ps3.

With some high scores or various objects to take out as well I could see myself syncing hours into this! Well done, you did really well with nailing that ragdoll mayhem!

Making me cry over here!!!

Bittersweet and Sombre. Great Job.

Hey, sorry it took so long to get caught up, so many games!

I tried yours, I liked the life story's being generated, just wish it had some sound to accompany it. sound really carries and sets a mood!

Otherwise the generation of life events is really cool. would love to see a more fleshed out version!

Forgot to add! thank you for the list, I intend to get through the games you listed

Ohhhh, so if you escaped while jumping over spikes would that be a way to kill off the consequence? If so that's a clever way of tricking it!

This is my first game jam also, and I am so envious on how you made a game that FEELS good, its so simple but you really nailed the physics. congrats! I hope to see more from you!!

I love the connection you have with Ness, I have the same connection with my character Kai and want to make various genre games around her life. I agree we need more strong female characters! Lara Croft is a big inspiration for me.

Great job!

The lack of audio was suffocating. it was a well told story, I hope grace is okay.

I needed to clean my desktop haha

This was such a great time!

The smile on my face when the cores came into play.

Also I thought id cheese the game by spamming esc to build up lives early on, the start of each run was almost the end haha.

Well done, The Animations, the Portraits, the music *Chefs Kiss*

Such a complete experience in such a short time!

I got Billy to pay up to 8.1B in Saffron Poisons, They will never financially recover.

Added to my list, thank you!

Best of luck to the both of us!! Im cheering you on also!

There is an ending.. I know what I'm doing in the morning haha.

That's messed up, you cant get me hooked and just end it so soon!

the art is so good, and the SFX add so much to the overall presentation.

Thank you for that.

Thanks Wife haha

Damn that was creepy, well done! consider me unsettled.

Great job with the music Alana, very moving and beautiful.
