Yeah that's what I'd expect reload to do but it's no biggie :)

Is Peek Aside different from the Show aside context menu option? Those can't be closed by Esc but do have a Hide aside context menu option. Maybe I misunderstood that this was different from what this plugin uses.

Looking at the shortcuts for Peek Aside it seems they don't work on Mac. Alt + F1 (Opt + F1 on mac) opens the Displays part of my Preferences application instead. I have been using the context menu this whole time, but perhaps that's different. I expect this belongs as a comment under that plugin - sorry for getting off-topic.

Esc works for this plugin's version of Aside though so thanks for that! All sorted.

Edit: Ah yes I see it's show-aside that's adding the context menu.

Ah amazing thank you! I pulled the latest and reloaded GMEdit and it works great.

I did initially try the "reload" link for the plugin in Preferences, but it just brings up a blank white window and nothing happens. Might be an Electron problem?

One thing I did notice is I cannot close the Aside that comes up (via Peek Aside) after creating the script, as there is no Hide Aside option in the right-click menu as there usually is. Worked around it by closing the tab for the script. Normal Asides can be hidden fine.

Thanks for GMEdit, it's breathed new life into GameMaker development.

Just wondered about this plugin as I can't get it to work when highlighting text. I get the error message asking to choose Create Here, yet that option is greyed out in the tree view. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Version: GMEdit-Mac, 6 Sep 2023

That's very kind thank you! Glad you enjoyed playing as much as we enjoyed making it. Day 3 is the end so you haven't missed anything :)

And thanks for the info on the non-existing rooms. Very mysterious indeed, we shall look into that ;D

In the words of Ron Burgundy "Well that escalated quickly."

Loved the frantic clicking around trying to appease the components of the computer and trying to keep the FPS up. Got a bit confused on level 3 as no matter how much I worked the fan, the temperature climbed to 100 and never came back down :(

Nice concept and I loved the visual style. Was fun watching my mana, choosing the most appropriate spells and deciding the best moments to overspend on my HP. Great job!

The only thing that took a bit of getting used to was that spells were cast to the position of your mouse cursor only after they finished casting, so it would be cool to see an option of a target being placed as soon as you press the spell button instead.

Really cool idea - every level had me thinking! Well done.

Thank you very much!

We are very glad you enjoyed it! The elevator leaving without you wasn't an intended feature haha, so we'll be looking to fix that (although we like the idea of throwing bags in, hitting the up button, and then hiking up a stairwell with a couple more to meet them at the top.

Thanks! I prefer a controller so that was a must :)

Thank you very much! We hope you enjoyed :)

Thank you very much! We hope you enjoyed the demo and we're glad you got the inspirations ;D

Thank you! We're pretty happy how it turned out - other than browser version not working of course :(

Amazing thank you very much!

Amazing to hear, thanks for playing!

Some good challenges here and the idea was implemented well. Took me a few tries to work out how it worked as the icons weren't immediately obvious, but once I'd worked it out it was a fun game. The only thing I didn't get on with were the controls - would have loved gamepad support. Overall very nice!

Lovely looking and great concept. I'd love to see more!

I had no idea a door could be so versatile! Warioware vibes with a pixel art aesthetic - fantastic job!

Really well executed idea with a great range of levels. Loved it! Well done.

We're really glad to hear that! Chuck's arms being physics-based was a new one for me. Bit of an accident but we quite liked it :)

Yes please feel free to share any errors. It'll help us with the tune up we'll be updating the game with after the rating period. Thanks!

A really nice idea that I could definitely spend more time playing! Would love to see this expanded to be able to design multiple worlds yourself, with zones made available/unavailable. Great job!

Great idea and nicely executed! One of those easy to learn, hard to master games.

A really cool idea! I could see myself playing this sort of game if it was fleshed out. Some things it would be cool to see:

  • defender stamina - perhaps depleted by adventurers, or through a few uses. At zero stamina they could "break", presenting a risk/reward scenario
  • in addition to the above if there was an indicator of what adventurers were coming into the dungeon before placing defenders, more careful thought could be placed into which and how many are used
  • a feature to "redeploy last defence" for a faster game loop
  • "auto-sell"
  • an expanded shop

Overall a great job I thought, I really enjoyed playing :)

Thank you so much! We hope you had fun playing :)

Thanks for playing and glad you found it fun! We shall be uploading a more ironed-out version once the rating period is over - including unattended bags in the lift! For now perhaps it is just an extra challenge :D

Sorry that one's definitely on us. Browser version was working until near the end of the jam when it suddenly stopped and we couldn't work out why in the time left.

We now have a solution, but until the rating period is over our only offering here is for Windows :(

Great! WASD and Q/E should work equally well in case that helps :)

We're glad you enjoyed! Totally agree on the unheld bags in elevator - we're still trying to fix this one ><

Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah that's one of those bugs we only noticed and fixed after the deadline haha. It doesn't stop play at least.

Glad you enjoyed :)

Very nice idea! Took me a hot minute to work out I had to eat the fishermen but was chomping them like a trooper before long. Great job.

This is my kind of bullet hell! Great job.

This is a cracking idea and well executed! Both my brain and mouse skills were tested in a combination that made for a very satisfying game experience.

A great idea with some nice challenges. Nice job!

There is a screenshot of the controls :) Ideally we wanted to include it in game as a Pause screen, but sadly we ran out of time.

Ah, are you perhaps using a non-Playstation controller? I expect there will be missing sprites for a lot of the differing buttons. Something to improve on in future!

Should work fine on keyboard though.

Ooh, sorry that is a bit of an odd one isn't it. Line -1 doesn't make much sense.

Perhaps it got corrupted on download or install, so perhaps try a fresh install?

Did you manage to get into the game before getting this error?

A really good idea here. I feel like I could have done with a bit clearer visuals on what my characters were going to do, and in what order, but great job nonetheless.

Fits the theme really well and is very addictive. Great job!

Absolute genius, thanks for making this.
