This is a fun little adventure. Retro vibe is well done. and i really like the choice of music.

Difficulty was just right imo especially for a game with this aesthetic. Enemies hit hard enough to punish you if your not thinking but dont feel unfair. However about halfway through the Deepwood area things just stopped hurting me.  0-2 damage every hit. Not sure why but it seemed to be all physical attacks. Even the final boss couldnt hurt me.

I really liked the simplified combat options and the emphasis on stuns in combat this was a really nice touch.

I found that the chests in the second level didnt give me any loot. Not sure if that was intentional or not.

I also thought the temp agency premise was a nice idea but scrolling  text at the start of the game is insanely fast - maybe i just need to git gud at reading.

Thank you for playing Yeti!

We were aware of the bug with the Centipede dude. A similar thing happens with one other monster you can encounter. We recognised this almost immediately after the submission window closed and alas we could not fix it. This was purely the result of forgetting to swap out a placeholder character sheet.

The blocked route in the cave section was not something i was aware of. can you confirm which cave you are referring to. Was it the one with the Square Rooms or the one with an abundance of blue mushrooms? I will look at this almost immediately as this could make the game unbeatable.  FIXED THIS NOW. You were totally right. Thank you for pointing that out. 1 impassable tile placed blocked the route to the dungeon.

Thanks again for taking the time to play and leave feedback.

Thank for Playing IC and for your kind words.

I spent more time than i perhaps should of on getting that right on the intro so its very satisfying to see compliments for this.

Apologies for any bugs you might have run into.

Hey Gobbo, Thanks for playing and please accept my apologies for the encounter rate.  Totally my fault. I hope what you managed to play was enjoyable until the monsters swarmed :)

We tried to make a retro vibed Transitionless battle system. A bit like Chrono triggers 'on field' battles but as though they were made for a NES era game.

UI design and Presentation was nice here. I particularly liked your sprites and the expressions in the text portraits.  I would have like to see more expressions for the Necromance character (I didnt see any in the portion that i played)  as i think these really complimented the dialogue. In a dialogue heavy game like this they make the experience much more enjoyable. I also enjoyed the scene with the jump.

I found it was a bit slow to get started. I think some of the dialogue in the opening scene would have been better if it was staggered throughout the gameplay to allow the player to get on with playing.

Art style and Graphical implementation on this game is fantastic. No idea how you got an RPG maker game to look like this in some places. Very creative and very impressive visuals. Id love to know how you you did this.

The Fishing minigame is also good. Tight controls and works really well when you get the hang of it. I think this is great and i only wish there was more of it.

Thanks for playing and giving comment Twomoon.

The combat encounters are indeed too common. Thats my bad! I turned the encounter rate up to test something in battles and didnt turn it back down before publishing. This is what i get for leaving it till the final hour to submit. A lesson learned.

Below is a link to a version with a much less painful encounter rate.

We will look at the menu bug also - thanks  for your feedback

Hey SIDDqlo.
Thank you for playing.
The enemy encounters thing is an error. We had the encounter rate up for testing and forgot to turn it back before we published.
There is a version that fixes this in the devlog and on the Itch.io page.

The Menu bug was unknown to us - we will have to fix that in a future version. Thanks for pointing it out.

Game was fun and had some interesting ideas.

I liked the retro aesthetic and the balance fit the tileset - it was punishing but not impossible. The fog of war effect in the dungeons was also a nice touch.

The story could have expanded more as your progress through the game - maybe opening up the nearby towns as you complete there local regional dungeon. I also think that the game could have benefitted from removing saving altogether or at least inside dungeons. Losing a character and all their gear was such a punishing outcome to a battle that I just save scummed my way through that scenario. Losing all of the items the character had equipped felt like too much of a punishment for me to persist.

I also really enjoyed the RNG elements and feel that you could have leaned into this more. Maybe sigils could draw a random class or the level or moveset of the generated character would be determined by some RNG.

I really like this. Love the graphics and the audio - such a cool vibe and aesthetic. Supposed to be working on my project but sat playing this for an hour lol

Gameplay and pacing perfectly captures the retro vibe as well. nice work.

Fun Concept.

Thanks alot - hope we can continue to excite you as we progress.

Thank you - comments like this mean alot! Gives us a lot of motivation to make more progress.

This is so cool.

Dope! Thank you Razuth.

I love everything about this project. Excited to see more :)

What platform/Engine are you using now?

Congrats Dan!

Thank you so much!

Unfortunately - at this stage - i cannot even estimate a release date. We are still very much in the early stages of the project and we have been working for nearly 12 months. (With breaks due to IRL things)

All of our work on this project; we fit in around our personal lives and so its difficult predict our future output. In addition to this, we are learning as we go and that mean sometimes - sadly - we spend a lot of hours and make little progress.

That said, we are progressing and were very proud of what we have so far.

Hey!

We realized that we had misunderstood your question and mistakenly thought it was about another project (https://danmartin257.itch.io/phantasy-star-iii-generations-of-doom-rmmz), so the response was incorrect. To avoid confusion, we removed the comment but deleted the whole thing by mistake.

In response to your original question we aren't anywhere near finished with Dahlia Project.

I regularly post updates in the fan works channel here -> https://discord.gg/tBVCMRt9

Planning to drop some short Devlogs soon also.

Thanks for following up! Genuinely appreciate your interest!

Thank you for the prompt response and agreed. For clarity, I am not seeking any refund or action to be taken in relation to my own losses.

However, they are advertising these services on Itch.io and i think it is important to try and protect others from this behaviour. Not sure what can be done  exactly- but i would hope steps can be taken to prevent him from fishing for victims via this platform.

I have sent an email to support@itch. Hopefully they will look into it.

Even if no action is taken - which would be a shame - I'm satisfied I've done my bit by trying to make the appropriate people aware.

Hi all

A User on Itch.io creating RPG Maker Plugins has been advertising his services for paid commission but is not producing what he has been paid for. He has effectively scammed a number of people - including myself - out of money and continues to try and do so on Itch.

Can someone enlighten me on what steps can be taken to report this guy? Asked on Discord and was soundly ignored.

I'm for sure not getting my money back but I feel its irresponsible to do nothing to prevent others from losing there money also.

Wow - you made this in RPG Maker MZ!? So impressive. Style gives me PS1 Era vibes which i love.

I would be very interested to hear what plugins - if any - were used for this project. Did you make them yourself?

(Discord - bagheadjack) :)

Thanks for your comment :D

Yes this is how we feel about the original as well - i am glad to see others share our feelings on PSIII. The original is a classic but there is so much untapped potential in the story and cast.

I hope that you continue to follow our project :)

Thank you! PS3 has a bad reputation but we feel that there is potential to deliver something special for the fans and newcomers alike.

Thank you for the kind words :) We hope to have more to show soon.

Very cool showcase of 'Mystery Dungeon' style gameplay here. Well done.
