Hi everyone!
I'm an Italian language professional and I'm currently building my experience in video game localization.
I'm offering free English → Italian localization for indie games and small projects.
What I can help with
- Dialogue and character lines
- UI and menus
- Tutorials
- Quests and descriptions
- Items, abilities and skills
- Achievements
- General in-game text
- Adaptation of idioms, jokes and expressions
- Terminology consistency
- Basic linguistic QA/proofreading
My goal is to create natural, fluent Italian that feels like it was written for Italian players rather than simply translated word-for-word.
What I'm looking for
I'm particularly interested in:
- Indie games
- Small or solo-developed projects
- Narrative games
- RPGs
- Adventure games
- Simulation games
- Visual novels
- Games currently in development or Early Access
I'm open to both released games and projects that are still being developed.
Important
This is a free collaboration. I'm primarily looking to gain practical experience in game localization and build a professional portfolio.
In exchange, I would appreciate:
- Credit as the Italian translator/localizer in the game
- Permission to mention the project in my portfolio and CV
- Access to the necessary context, terminology and localization files
- A copy of the game, if possible
For larger projects, we can discuss the scope and workload before starting.
If you're an indie developer interested in adding an Italian localization to your game, feel free to send me a message or reply to this post.
Please include the name of your game, a short description and an approximate amount of text to be translated.
Thank you!
