I won! nice game :) I would have loved the time between the dynamite exploding and being able to drop another to be a bit tighter, I often found myself scrolled down the screen, having clicked, and being unsure if I had dropped a dynamite or not 😆

Nice visuals, nice music, nice game, nice submission, overall nice!

Great game! I love the overall aesthetic and vibe. The only part I found hard to differentiate was when there were shorter blue bars hidden behind a taller yellow block, as this looked the same as some of the earlier overlapping yellow blocks.

A really unique idea to visually show your fall damage range, and build a platformer puzzler around it! Well done

My brain hurts 😆such a neat puzzle game! Well done

Such a fun and engaging game. I did a quick recording of my gameplay in case it helps out: ZHERLO by Urcra | Cap Recording

Graphic style/shader was awesome, audio design was smart while diving differentiating between perfect/good hits and also the low hum getting faster and faster as you picked up speed.

I liked all the small polish touches like the outside of the screen flashing for a perfect click. A very impressive game to make in under 3 hours, with a full upgrade system and engaging story/milestones!

One small thing I made a comment on was not being able to take in much of the screen while diving, as I had to stay locked on to the PSI gauge, and found it hard to shift focus and try see how deep I was or how far I had left to go.

This is a really well polished submission! I also really like the game canvas size you picked. Audio design was great, movement was fun, very engaging game loop.

Nice work! I like the tremor mechanic, at first I thought it teleported me to a new map, and then I clocked when my depth was decreasing instead of increasing that it was the same map and I was going the wrong way

I really like the art style, the angry turnip is my fav. I think an audio clip on picking up the gems would have added to the immersion! Overall a solid entry, well done

Nice submission :) I really like the art style. I think the mouse cursor may be slightly off, or I'm bad at gaming 😆 If I aim using the point of the finger, it would often not grab the ships, however if I did it closer to the center of the hand it worked OK!

Thanks 🙏

Thanks for playing Vex! I was struggling to come up with an idea this week 😆

I think the link to the theme came to me when I was walking the dogs. I was running through how to interpret the words within the theme differently, and landed on middle of the earth!

Coming up with the link first is hard, as I then have to try fit a game into the idea. I prototyped a few falling with the ring mechanics, being able to dash, having the player actually disappearing when you use the ring, and landed on the core game that I released pretty quickly after testing 😄

Thanks for playing! I thought the intro was needed to create a stronger connection to the theme 😆

Thanks for playing! The speed/movement was tricky to tweak, and I'm in the same boat as you where I'm usually needing the ring by 400m+ to dodge the layered obstacles. I thought of it as a 'get out of jail free' option, so if you were struggling early on, you could also use it!

There is a pro gamer interaction where the player will 'sling' super quickly to the mouse after leaving invisibility, when the mouse is much further away from your character

This was my classic trap of coming up with the theme idea first, and then having to link a game idea to it 😆 thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing 😊

Thank you noamoa 😄

Thanks for playing and nice work with the high score! 😄

🎺 PICO 8 LET'S GO 🎺

This is such an excellent game! Super polished, top marks from me.

The collectable in each level was a great replayability add, also each level having a unique puzzle to solve, leading to an 'aha' moment was slick.

Great music, great sound design, a super solid entry!

Cool game, I like the aesthetic created by the harsh headlamp field of view. I had a hard time navigating the geysers 😆 I liked the visual navigation pane showing how deep you've gone and how much further you need to go.

A challenging and fun platformer, well done.

Fun game loop! Guitar hero but for digging holes 😆

A cool spin on a retro classic! For me, the leaderboard was the first page that loaded in your game, I would have expected it to take me straight to the main menu.

I had a lot of fun trying to shoot the invaders, and adjust my lead times based on their different speeds. Challenging but well done!

This is awesome! I did a quick recording of my gameplay in case it helps 😄 Claim Earth by florian-noirbent | Cap Recording

A very clever submission for a game jam, the seeded worlds is impressive for replayability, and also including a live leaderboard! I found myself doing multiple attempts trying to be the best, and also starting new runs to get a 'better' seed to get deeper

I didn't find the need to use the grapple much as I could safely wall jump around, but imagine this would be critical as you dig deeper. On idea for even more replayability would be collectable charges throughout the level, being able to replenish your inventory and dig even deeper!

One small note is that the leaderboard is backwards, so my -1 run is currently placed second haha

Such a cool game. Well done indeed!

Nice submission, a simple game mechanic executed well. I liked that you limited it to 10 drops, as it made me play it again trying to beat my score.

Such a beautiful game, well done keeping under 3 hours! It's an impressive list of things you wanted to add to the game still 😆

I did a quick recording of my gameplay if it helps 😄 The Heart of Mother Earth by noamoa | Cap Recording

The overall vibe with the visuals, music and audio feedback was top tier. There were a few interactions where I felt like the camera shouldn't have been panning when it did, but it was still very easy to work around.

It's a nice touch how you teach the game mechanic in the menu to start the game. An excellent submission!

I think this is a nice concept, jumping and moving the brick around at the same time successfully made me feel like a pro gamer. I like the menu you built, which teaches the player the click and drag mechanic before they launch in.

I also liked the small touch in your intro sequence where the speed of the on-screen text typing changed for emphasis.

I did press `S` on my keyboard as soon as I jumped in the game after reading the instructions, and this instant won me the game. I then accidentally pressed this key on another run which took me to the win screen again.

I wasn't quite sure what the ancient runes I collected granted me, but it was nice to have the overall objective to aim for. I was also able to 'steal' the top rune from the bottom section which felt like cheating 😆

Overall I had a great time playing, and think this is a really cool concept.

I did a quick recording of my gameplay in case it helps 😄 DodgeTheCore by Vex | Cap Recording

A simple core mechanic done well! I had fun trying to dodge asteroids as long as I could. Pixel art is nice too, the incremental earth taking damage looked cool too.

I liked the click making the earth go in the opposite direction, as this made it feel like I had to chase it around the screen and made it more engaging. Nice touch on the arrow changing from green/red to show the player when a click is valid.

A few instances where I took an asteroid hit and it didn't update my earth, not sure if I was actually taking damage as the earth sprite didn't progress.

Overall a solid game! Nice work

I KNOW WHAT COAL IS

This actually got me laughing out loud 😆I loved the narrative you built, excellent writing and a fun game to play!

Nice one 😄 solid game loop, I had fun collecting gems and seeing how far I could get.

I wonder if this could have been a mobile-ish ratio instead of widescreen? Could be fun to see how different of a game it plays just by switching it up. The one recommendation from me was the drill loop audio, which cuts off before re-playing again. I think doing a quick edit on this so it looped without a break would have helped with my drilling immersion

Overall well done!

This reminded me of the Doctor Eggman fights from the Sonic series 😄It took me a few rounds to realize I could double jump, which made movement a lot easier. Some of my better runs were ended when I jumped over the earth, and got bopped by a spike that has just spawned on the screen. I like how the earth's attacks have been telegraphed, and there's learn/react rhythm you get through trial and error.

I had a lot of fun playing this, love the 3D aesthetic as a side scroller.

I didn't finish my game for this jam but thought I would try your game out after requesting some feedback in Discord! I always find is super helpful to watch Kris play my game on the livestream, so I've done a recording for you that I hope will help: Overdrive Oasis by WLHib | Cap Recording 😄

What I really liked were the visuals and vibe of the game, you've really hit the aesthetic and feel you're going for

My key bit of feedback is getting the player into the game as soon as you can and maybe trying to show the gameplay as an alternative to telling with the instructions screen at the start. You will see in my recording that I wasn't sure I had to jump into the rings even after reading the instructions, there's a version of this where you press start, land straight into the jet ski world, and drive into a few rings, instantly rewarding for the player, and/or having some onscreen UI helpers of the keyboard inputs?

One idea from me is having low and high rings, with low rings around the player in the starting zone that are visually distinguished from higher rings that require jumping

Now that the jam is over I've pushed an update with some added visual helpers - let me know what you think!

Thanks Bengar! Agree in retrospect that a visual tracker of some sort would have made it way easier to get to 'ahh I got it now!'

Appreciate the feedback and you taking time to play my game 😄

Pico 8 has been awesome! I'm really enjoying it 😄

From the feedback I think what I would have done differently is have a current order visual tracker, something like small color coded circles above the ordering table of your current order input

Thanks for playing my game!

Thanks for playing Sabi!

Much obliged Oscar, thanks for taking the time to play!

Atleast the beasts were nice enough to say thanks for the beans 😆I like the art style of this one

I ended up feeding IT too much, it disappeared and the hunger level continuously increased😆Nice game! Well done getting a submission in
