It's a crazy bug -- we've seen it first hand.  With tracking the different states of inventory items, states of environments, UI representation, etc., it gets complicated fast.  But if they could solve all the issues with the nanobots, I'm sure they'll get this sorted too. I sort of imagine someone working in a darkly-lit room, no windows, with state diagrams tacked to the walls and ceiling with yarn criss-crossing between them all.

Good to hear they are still chipping away at it.

I haven't heard anything since the last update (which I think happened around the time Troels was doing some SQ-themed live streams and someone commented that they were working on the save system while watching the live stream).  I'd like to help in any way I can.... not familiar with Unity so I'm not sure how useful my mediocre scripting skills might be but I can always do more testing work.

I never played Colonel's Bequest so I'll definitely check it out.

I've got at least one more play-test in me, so I'm game if they want to go that route.

Getting ready to move apartments in a few days and nowhere near ready. It's enough to make someone take a quick nap in the closet when no one is looking.

Well now I want a Space Quest themed breakfast cereal (with Orat part and Orium shaped marshmellows).

I'd play that.

Spoiler:

Regarding the rather familiar sleeping person Ace stumbles across in the Supplies room on the Deep Space Research station -- think they made it off the station in time?

Ha, that's perfect!

By the way, could you order any food at Taco Nova? I wasn't sure if I was hitting bugs but it didn't seem like I could do much there, other than "refuel" the ship. Anything happen if you beat the arcade game?

Some time back there was a request for Taco Nova food ideas -- hoping some of those make it into the game.

If you failed in the worm once, did you have a problem with your mouse cursor vanishing the second time?

Wish I could help but I'm stuck in the same place and have tried the exact same thing (took me a long time to find the goggles).

Started over and didn't hit this bug this time around (bad hose ends removed after connecting replacement hoses).

Good find -- I couldn't remember if those hoses were still supposed to be there or not. Ok, going to try an earlier save and see if that helps.  Maybe I can figure out how to reproduce it.

Thanks, just sent you an email.

Good suggestion, I sort of remember being surprised that I could launch during the last beta version.

I checked and the Navigation button and the Launch button seem to be inaccessible (red/black caution stripe) so I can't seem to launch.

When I check System I get all the lights at the top to blink red, the fuel indicator seems to be blinking red, and one of the engines blinks red (open hatch)? At the least the crapolytic converter is coming up green.

Not sure if I am stuck or if I have found a bug.

I can't take off from Scrap's junk yard to head over to the job at Dominion Estates.  I have completed the following:

  • Brought all the ship pieces back to the junkyard
  • Welded the two engines, cockpit, and fuselage together
  • Filled the crapolytic convert with the three items
  • Used Weldon to install the crapolytic converter
  • Exited the ship and workshop a bunch of times until Weldon and Scraps exit the ship
  • Replaced the hoses

I didn't/couldn't close the engine panel door.

When I sit in the pilot's seat every system seems to light up as damaged. I can't close the hatch on the back of the ship (Ace just says something about it being uneventful).

Am I missing a step?

Thanks for the nudge -- I went back to an old save and managed to use Rooter to knock out all his tasks (I hope) at the same time, so I think I am unstuck for the time being.

I’ll have to keep playing with it. I got further but then had the same problem trying to use Rooter to find the second meteor.

I was about to say Yes, but I fired up the game one more time to make sure I had the steps right.

But now it worked...

The only difference this time (other than quitting/turning the computer off) was that I parked the mule down by the crane and walked back up. I was able to switch back and forth then.

Edit: Tried it a second time but it didn't work after reloading the save. I then quit the game, restarted, loaded the same save, and it worked.

I'm having the same issue -- loved that I could solve the puzzle, but can't take control of the adorable little rust box of plastobolts.

I've encountered this as well. I had one case where trying to  swing again showed the animation of Ace swinging back to the original side, even though it's where it showed him standing.
