Great vibes! Love the themed areas and a nice variety of enemies imo. Weapons felt nice and distinct, though some of the faster enemies felt almost impossible to hit with the poison.

You hit it out of the park with this one! The highlight for me is how nice the level design is. The patterns are always complimenting each other nicely. There a slower sections between the more intense moment, but yet you never stand still. Awesome work

Simple but really well executed. The animations all look super crisp and the sprites look good, feels polished.

I beat the game (after more tries than i would like to admit.) And i really want to love it. The aesthetics are simple but great, nice sound design, control are good. The idea that you don't run out of bullets, it just shoots slower is really novel and I'm not sure i have seen that before, it's amazing, really.

But the regeneration just feels so cheap. One unlucky pattern or far away ammo spawn and your run is over...

Fun idea, great work. My game froze after the second level, was this the end or did it bug out?

Took me a while with the slideshow at the start too, but i figured it out eventually.

The game was really fun, nice clean controls and some interesting patterns to dodge. I made it to the 2nd enemy in the forest before stopping, the game was really hard imo. The shooting felt a little unresponsive, but i guess the game is more about dodging anyway.

The art is amazing, love the hand-drawn look, makes me wish the game was easier so i could appreciate more of the artwork :P

Well, this is embarrassing, I have no idea how that one slipped through. You're right its just a leftover from testing. Thank you for letting me know. I guess i will upload a fixed version but leave the original up in the spirit of the jam.

But even with that, i think damage and attack speed ended up being a bigger deal than weapon level. I didn't really test the game past world 4, and already there the amount of spawns get pretty crazy. Making balanced random waves ended up being harder than i imagined.

Thank you for trying it out!

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.
Originally i wanted to add unique abilities to the upgrades, to give it even more of a rogue-like feel with synergies etc. I didn't have time for that, but i think it turned out fine regardless.

Cute game, love the art and aesthetics

I would love some feedback on my game, if you want to try it out :) https://asimithehero.itch.io/frozen-solid

Fantastic artwork. Really short but i enjoyed the part i got to play.

A simple mechanic executed well, with great level design too. Nice take on the Jump King formula. Maybe a bit too aggressive with the movement, i found it hard to make small micro adjustments to set up my jump. But really that's a nitpick

(1 edit)

Maybe I'm a sucker for the terminal look, but this was really well done with a lot of personality. It was great at conveying a sense of mystery. I liked the puzzle mechanic, but a bit too easy for my taste. Would have liked some longer words.

Fun game, it looks cute. The tile placing adds a nice puzzle element.

The jumping feels a bit unnatural to me, you can't really change direction once you're in the air.

Really liked the art and animations, the tank cannon looks so satisfying when you shoot, and the trees are a nice touch. Gameplay is simple but fun, some sound would have been nice though. Great work!

Thanks for trying it out, I'm glad you liked it :)

Maybe you died from the cold. I didn't get around to making a proper death screen so it just puts you back in the main menu. Or it could be a bug for sure.

Thanks for trying it out.

Simple but cute! The artstyle is really charming. The little story intro was perfect, felt like an old flash game or something.

My highscore was 829, i guess my chef will be eating good. :P

Fun little puzzle game, just hard enough imo. Looks really good too!
Wouldn't run on Firefox for some reason, got the error "Error: Couldn't load project data at path ".". Is the .pck file missing?". Could be on my end, worked fine on chrome.

Fun game, really sick art. I love the way the hair moves when you jump. And the little electron guys are just perfect. Shooting and moving feels really satisfying.
Gets a little stale, once you're at max difficulty, but the fundamentals are great. Those flashbangs get annoying after a while though.

Honestly a lot more fun than i expected, got around 5000 on my second attempt. Would love to see this concept expanded with more enemy variety, mechanics etc.
The leaf, iron and health displays were also bugged for me. I think sometimes when the value changes, the display doesn't change to show it.

I love the temperature mechanic, at some point you're forced to avoid the electrons to avoid overheating.  The difficulty ramps up very slowly, but once it gets going it's pretty fun.

I really liked the voice acting and camera angles at the start. The RC car was harder to control than i would have liked, and climbing the spiral pillar was... frustrating. Some in-game explanation of the controls would have been nice too.
Couldn't seem to progress after collecting the red can from the top of the shelves (the 3rd item from the store i believe). Was that the end of the game or did it just break for me?

I beat the game, wasn't too hard imo but took a little to get used to the controls. I enjoyed that first boss the most, maybe a little too hard for a 'tutorial' boss but it had the most varied moveset. The last boss was the easiest for me, but maybe that's just because i was better at the game at that point. Some of the bosses wind-up animations were a little light and easy to miss. The most frustrating thing was how they would keep dodging my attack by jumping into the air.
The dash controls was a little frustrating, i wish it would let me dash without holding an arrow key. I was also a little confused how the charge only dealt damage to the shield, and not to the boss, would have been nice with two different attacks to mix up the combat a little.
I realize this might sound negative, but really the game was great and i had fun. A nice variety of boss attacks that didn't feel similar. The visuals and aesthetic was definitely a highlight for me, awesome game.

Fun game! Cute art and a nice concept. The physics were a little janky sometimes and it took a couple tries to understand the controls and learn the level. I liked it.

The hand drawn art was honestly kind of charming, and i liked the puzzle aspects of using your gun for movement.
The later levels were a little frustrating with most of the enemies hidden off-screen. Certainly janky but a pretty fun game regardless.
