Great vibes! Love the themed areas and a nice variety of enemies imo. Weapons felt nice and distinct, though some of the faster enemies felt almost impossible to hit with the poison.

I beat the game (after more tries than i would like to admit.) And i really want to love it. The aesthetics are simple but great, nice sound design, control are good. The idea that you don't run out of bullets, it just shoots slower is really novel and I'm not sure i have seen that before, it's amazing, really.
But the regeneration just feels so cheap. One unlucky pattern or far away ammo spawn and your run is over...
Took me a while with the slideshow at the start too, but i figured it out eventually.
The game was really fun, nice clean controls and some interesting patterns to dodge. I made it to the 2nd enemy in the forest before stopping, the game was really hard imo. The shooting felt a little unresponsive, but i guess the game is more about dodging anyway.
The art is amazing, love the hand-drawn look, makes me wish the game was easier so i could appreciate more of the artwork :P
Well, this is embarrassing, I have no idea how that one slipped through. You're right its just a leftover from testing. Thank you for letting me know. I guess i will upload a fixed version but leave the original up in the spirit of the jam.
But even with that, i think damage and attack speed ended up being a bigger deal than weapon level. I didn't really test the game past world 4, and already there the amount of spawns get pretty crazy. Making balanced random waves ended up being harder than i imagined.
Thank you for trying it out!
I would love some feedback on my game, if you want to try it out :) https://asimithehero.itch.io/frozen-solid

I really liked the voice acting and camera angles at the start. The RC car was harder to control than i would have liked, and climbing the spiral pillar was... frustrating. Some in-game explanation of the controls would have been nice too.
Couldn't seem to progress after collecting the red can from the top of the shelves (the 3rd item from the store i believe). Was that the end of the game or did it just break for me?
I beat the game, wasn't too hard imo but took a little to get used to the controls. I enjoyed that first boss the most, maybe a little too hard for a 'tutorial' boss but it had the most varied moveset. The last boss was the easiest for me, but maybe that's just because i was better at the game at that point. Some of the bosses wind-up animations were a little light and easy to miss. The most frustrating thing was how they would keep dodging my attack by jumping into the air.
The dash controls was a little frustrating, i wish it would let me dash without holding an arrow key. I was also a little confused how the charge only dealt damage to the shield, and not to the boss, would have been nice with two different attacks to mix up the combat a little.
I realize this might sound negative, but really the game was great and i had fun. A nice variety of boss attacks that didn't feel similar. The visuals and aesthetic was definitely a highlight for me, awesome game.
