I'll message everyone who reached out! Apologies -- I just need to finish up my work day first

EDIT: I'm currently in contact with a few individuals who have reached out; thank you to all who were eager to work with me!

I'm currently sorting out a budget for a long-term hobby project of mine and am curious about having a character concept translated into a sprite. The game is a platformer with a Gameboy visual aesthetic style, along the lines of Wario Land and Super Mario Land 2. The basics of the sprite itself would have to fall within this scope:

  • 4 Color Palette (Green Gameboy Palette, I can provide an Aesprite palette file if needed!)
  • 16x32 Sprite Size in-engine
    • The actual character should fall closer to 16x24 or 16x28, leaving a little space overhead
  • 2-4 Frames at most for any given animation with the following planned so far (we can just start with Idle + Walk for now, if that works):
    • Idle (2-4 Frames)
    • Walk (3-4 Frames)
    • Run (3-4 Frames)
    • Jump (2-3 Frames)
    • Fall (1-2 Frames)
    • Damage (1-2 Frames)
    • Death (Static Frame)

I'm currently just trying to sort out the costs right now and would be budgeting for a July arrangement (or later, depending on costs). I would NOT expect work before an agreement is made on scope, cost, etc. I would be looking to work with the same artist over time on other characters, enemies, tilesets, etc. Each of those would be discussed over time.

Concept art for the character is below, as well as general test images of the engine as-is so far so you can see the general feel I am going for. Feel free to reach out to me via ashlay@cozycafe.org with any questions! I do check on here, as well, but am relatively new to anything more than solo hobby dev, so I can tend to forget hopping onto socials and Itch for a while, so please be patient with me!

I remember coming across this a little while back and being intrigued, but not having the time to sit and play it. I'm glad to finally have gotten it downloaded! I love it so much! The art and music is so good, and the control feels smooth. I look forward to seeing more!

Sue took everything from me! I could beat her at minigames, but she stole every coin and star I got my hands on, then the other CPUs would just give to her through Chance squares. She mocked me every round as divine power just gave and gave to her.

Loved every moment, the minigames were tons of fun! 10/10 would definitely play again!

Adorable game! I loved every moment <3

That was a lot of fun to decipher! Great experience overall <3 I accidentally solved the color buttons somehow, but the rest I was able to figure out from your design. Well done!

Amazing, I loved every moment!

Wonderfully adorable game <3 Loved figuring it out! Animations were well done I had a great time putting together the solution to each step :)

Love this! What a fun mechanic to play around with. I'd love to see this expanded on someday. I was genuinely sad when it was over.
