So at the bottom "back" and "preferences" are cut off on either side so all I see is "ck" and "pre". Left side of the background is while with a sad person, middle is black, and right is black with a red illustration. When I click auto and skip, the white's seen flashing on the left over the gray art, so I assume it's text. On the right all I get is "stripped click" when using WASD. I was just messing around with it more to if it worked and give you more details and the spacebar does allow me to change the images (I assume the cards), but I'm only seeing the art change with WASD at that point.

I'm not sure if it was itch, or the game, but the first time I tried playing it crashed and I received a browser (firefox) notification that the page was slowing down the browser. The second time I played through there weren't any crashes, but I noticed a very high power usage spike in task manager from that browser window.
It was fun, I enjoyed the interpretation and execution of the themes in the card bonuses and how card placement impacted scoring the way tarot cards' placement can impact a reading.
Unfortunately not all of the controls were working. WASD and space for jump worked, but I couldn't get e-interact, leftclick-shoot, or Q-telekinesis to work. I wasn't able to get any of the cards revealed. I found the jumping on floating balls to levitate upwards to one of the pedestals for a card was interesting.
Played on windows and a firefox browser.
I couldn't play the game in its entirety, because when I'd click the "Realm Entrance Form" it was cut off so I could only see the tops of the first two cards and the words "the soul should go". This meant I couldn't select the third card, and I think limited my progress. I was playing on Windows in a firefox browser.
Fun game loop.
It somewhat felt like it mattered less what cards you drew because you'd be able to use them all and draw what was left. Maybe a mechanic that involves a partial discard or redraw? Could do something where there's only a default action after the deck has all been used or discarded, or where discards get shuffled back into a deck once cards run out while played cards aren't usable until the next enemy?
Pixel art was great, and it was nice that notes on the cards meaning was included and paired with complimentary effects. Hope you continue working on it!
I tried running this in windowed and full screen mode in firefox, but beyond the menu screen and the preferences I didn't see changes fom the main screen. I tried clicking skip and auto, but I only noticed some white dots flashing along the background. Should I be trying to play this in a different browser?
There was sometimes lag for camera changes, or the camera wouldn't change and the player character was off screen and kept getting stuck on something because I couldn't get them back on screen or to trigger a camera change. The first time I tried playing it when walking up the hill the player character just didn't show up in the lower end of the screen and I had to X out and relaunch. I think I may have also missed a few interaction boxes, because the first smear of blood you find and your friend's body seemed like they would've had an interaction. I didn't end up finishing the game, because I got really annoyed by the player character getting stuff off screen.
The atmosphere and sound design was on point without being too crowded. I also think that having a stack of logs nearby the fire and having the character go and find a log elsewhere as being misleading design, because at first I was clicking around on the nearby log stacks. Maybe even just adding that the stack already collected is wet or something when prompted by the friend?
