Short but super sweet!

Loved the games art style, it's both readable and very pretty! The SFX and soundtrack were maybe the best I've seen so far, and you can really feel the weight of the player character.

Pretty simple as far as platformers go, I enjoyed the sonic style damage system, but the ammo mechanics just weren't it for me. I had no reason to want to sacrifice my hp to kill the enemies, even in the sections where avoiding them was difficult, while I could retrieve most of the life I lost when getting hit, there's no way to get back used ammo, and with how easy it was to just dodge the enemies in almost every section on top of that there wasn't a reason to bother.  Maybe this would be fixed by letting you pick up the coins you shot? Not sure.

But even if the shooting was a dud for me the rest of the gameplay is still so up there that it doesn't matter! I adore the cutscenes they're so cute <3

Also, I don't know if it was intentional for sure, but the title just makes me think of Gerson and I have to give bonus point for that, it's just such a good pun.

Super cool idea and I absolutely love the mechanics! I just wish the game would actually teach them! (Well not like I'm one to talk since my games the same way xd)

I had the same issues mentioned by others about figuring out the mechanics, although Kieran's review did get me to the point where I could figure it out from there.

My biggest issue is the fact that golden hour messes up the sound ques, especially with the second boss. + Stylas felt like he killed a bit too fast if you aren't completely prepared and expecting for him the moment you load in. (I died like 20 times to him and every time was within the first 5ish seconds.)

Put in an actually honest to god tutorial that forces you to understand the mechanics of parrying and crits and this is one of the best games in the jam! Hell I'd pay money for a fuller length version.

Just incredible work from a pure gameplay standpoint. Kudos to your team!

A full in depth tutorial would have been good yeah. I don't think I'd write anything on the page itself that I didn't already write in the in game info screen though (since it's meant to be the the tutorial as of now), so not sure it would be any help.

Cool looking game with some really cute art!

Unfortunately my computer did not like running it very much and lagged a lot, and occasionally would get stuck shaking really hard forever. Might try running it back some other time.

Oh is there? It was 'Rub' which has to be the easiest one lmao. Crazy that I got it in one.

Adorable and fun! I can't get over the little sounds the cat makes. kdhhgfhfkhfhfkd

Neat idea! I do wish there was a better was to managed the skulls (particularly the middle sized clone spewing ones) but it was fun trying to survive as long as possible!

The vibes are impeccable! Super cute art and I enjoyed figuring out all the quirks with the compass (Which I was surprised by since it reads as such a simple teleport gimmick!)

I do kind of wish the coin felt like it mattered a bit more than just being a macguffin, but I suppose that's all it needed to be.

Super great job!!!

Neat and simple! Would have loved some real interactions with the person we're supposed to be racing, but I guess that wasn't in the cards. Great work!

Ridiculously impressive for the time span and a super fun play through (Although I'll admit, I guessed the lock code right away and never looked in the dark room, so I definitely missed some stuff. Might come back if I feel up to it.) Naturally this could never be a real gameboy game though lmao.

Super interesting concept and could be super cool with some more polish!  Struggled a lot because the character sprite lags behind your actual position in a really weird way, and I didn't really have a reason to use the teeth throwing. But I love the idea of sneaking under a blind monster that find you by sound so much.

Loved the art and story! I was pleasantly surprised by each character and their quirks and I enjoyed the humor too. I have genuinely no idea what I'm supposed to be doing on the rhythm game section though? There's no indication I could discern on how to know when to press the buttons, maybe I'm just bad though.

Loved the goofy atmosphere! The dev room music got me good! I want more of Pearl deliberating on whether to kill

I love gambling slightly less than my new squirrel wife. Great vibes all around!

Super unique! I'm a deck builder roguelike nut so this was great fun. The music and artstyle were also cute.

Really loved this! The music and art are really fun and the gameplay is unique and satisfying (I love ripping people off.) + Really well polished! My only complaint is that sometimes you'll get a day where no one wants to buy anything, even if you have hype.

Neat Game! Using your own game engine is really impressive!

Included file doesn't run on its own. You need the pck file to run it.

Neat idea but definitely undercooked. Good luck on your future endeavors though!

Hey! Thanks so much for giving it a chance!

As you say, differentiating the player and enemy towns was the part I struggled with the most, and I never ended up coming up with a solution I liked within the time limit... Welp that's a game jam for ya!

Absolutely amazing! The mechanics are super fun once you get the hang of them and really well polished too. I do wish the first area wouldn't repeat the unskippable tutorial, since I ended up accidently returning to the map trying to remember the controls.

Super cute and fun!

Super simple and fun! The necklace having a different sprite from its picture definitely messed me up a few times though lol.

He's just a little goober! Good work!

I actually love her, she's adorable! What I don't love is spending 30 minutes barely moving wile the slot machine tells me no treasure. Ended up getting 22 items (like 5 or 6 of which were dupes.) I probably didn't get everything but I promised myself I'd stop playing if I got two dupes in a row because the movement is hairpulling. Still, solid job actually finishing in the first place!

Super cute! Some of the check point placements weren't the best, but it's hard to go wrong with a simple platformer.
