Hi Patricia, thank you so much for letting me know. No, I haven't received any emails, not even in my spam folder.

What should I do?

This is something I need to look into because I think it could be done. I'm not sure, as I said, I need to see it, but I think you can use any of the available voices you want. This is a whole new world I've discovered thanks to this jam session. We'll see what the future holds...

That's great about the bald guys :-D

Thanks for your kind words :-)

And indeed, I have a task to organize texts to make it clearer who is speaking; it doesn't always happen that way. As for the TTS voices, I'm not exactly sure what you mean. They're the ones provided by the browser's API, and they're not always the same. Depending on the computer I'm testing on, it might be a boy or a girl. I don't really understand why; I'll have to look into it.

Well, I see a pretty modern code, I haven't looked into it in detail but it looks very good :-)

That's right, I missed that detail, thanks for pointing it out :-)

It should be fixed now, but I'll try testing my project with VoiceOver again to see if I can figure out how it works.

Exactly, that's how it was.

On the other hand, I understand the apprehension, but I think this issue is sometimes exaggerated. They're just another tool; for example, as a programmer, I haven't written code in about two years now, I just review it.

The music is mine (I've been playing guitar since 1986), the only thing the AI did was provide me with musicians (for free) to perform the original idea, this is great from my point of view, they have come to help the creators...for now, later when the time comes they will rebel and try to finish us off, etc, etc.

Okay, now Lyndor doesn't have nipples, and I also removed his abs :-D

Thank you so much. Regarding the keyboard issue it's possible you lost focus at some point. I'll make a note of that so that when this happens the game will go into "pause" mode.

I would love that help, but I see a small "problem," and that is that the style would have to be consistent throughout the entire game. I mean, when I do it (if this is ever possible, as I said, it doesn't depend on me), everything would have to have a unique style. This is the biggest problem: getting it to always be the same character, the same drawing style, etc... although, well, since I have a lot to write at the moment, I think the visual aspect can wait a little longer. What I will do in the short term is make a theme for the interface.

It's the work of an AI (I don't remember which one; I used several at the time). Unfortunately, I can't handle the visual aspect, and the few people I know who could do it are, well, the usual: family, work, etc. It's a complicated matter, to be honest. I first tried using free image banks, but that approach is even worse. Finding something that perfectly matches what you're doing or have in mind when it's a personal project is difficult. What I will do based on your comment is edit it myself at some point.

Now that I'm writing this, I'm wondering if I should warn people about it. I know some people are very reluctant to accept AI-generated content.

By the way, just in case anyone gets the wrong idea, this is the only work in my project done with an AI, along with the music, although it's actually mine. It all started with a whistle I recorded, and an AI orchestrated it. :-)

I hadn't looked closely enough at the image :-D

Thanks for pointing out the "alt" attribute for the image.

Amazing! I really liked it the first time I saw it, even though I didn't understand anything :-D (I'm not an English speaker), but thanks to Zersiax's stream on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/zersiax) I've been able to see how it works. It's really cool; I can't even imagine the work that goes into it.

[Edit, sorry]

There will be a button that opens a list of available locations; by selecting one, we "teleport".

Thanks for your comment, and yes, the prologue is quite linear, but at the time I thought it was a good idea to do it that way. It's a way to introduce three important characters in the story. As I explain at the end, from this point on there's an inventory, an action menu, and a map to change locations, which will change the game mechanics and make decisions start to carry real weight, although this is already happening "invisibly" in the prologue.

Of course, that would be theirs; for now I've used TTS because finding people who work for the love of it is complicated, although adding TTS has been a good move in other respects.

Thanks, your recommendations are right on my "endless" to-do list, and yes, it's my own framework.

That must be the problem then (the screen reader) because the tests I do with the integrated TTS work fine, by the way the only place where there is no TTS is on the input screen, so for whatever reason I thought it was good that it was like that and that the voice starts when pressing "Start/Continue".

Thank you so much for your kind words; they really help me continue with my project :-) On another note, I'll try what you suggested with a screen reader. I didn't get around to doing this test because it already has TTS reading, so I dismissed it. Even so, I'll look into what might be happening.

Thank you so much! This is probably the best thing that will happen to me today 🙂

Super fun :-)

On another note, I don't know if anyone has already mentioned this, but being able to use the keyboard to type names/surnames would be great. I personally find it tedious not being able to do it that way.

Hola buenas!

FYI.

Muy bueno el funcionamiento.

Thanks for replying, good luck with the project.

If you like text-based decision games, we could give it a try.

Good luck, I've been trying for a few years now, and without paying, it's going to be very difficult for you.

Hello Sofia, do you speak Spanish? I have a humorous story set in a medieval fantasy world, and I could use some help finishing it.

Hi, here a programmer with his own engine offers his services to make something like the one shown in the attached image, where you can see how is a scene, I explain the details of it, as the text shown in the image is in Spanish.

We can have:
- A background image, the scene.
- An explanatory text for the scene, or not.
- A series of decisions for the user at the bottom left.
- A list of locations at the top right.
- A menu in the upper left hand side composed of:
  - An inventory, with which we can view, use and combine objects.
  - A menu with a list of actions that can be performed on a scene.

It's a very simple approach really, but I think you can do fun things with a little imagination :-)
And that's all, if anyone is interested we can talk about it in any way we consider appropriate.

Best regards.

I can only say that I love it :-)

Ok, I quite like the idea, we can talk if you want better by email, I also have discord but I don't use it much if you prefer, my email is ardleon@hotmail.com

Could you explain the game mechanics? Here or if you prefer privately, I might be interested.
