Thanks for your feedback. I will check different option and adjust. I find it a bit difficult to fit all I want onto the card surface, so any feedback like this is valuable.

Evolution early demo is now available

I’m happy — and honestly a little nervous — to share the first public demo of Evolution.

Evolution is a nature-themed deckbuilding roguelike built in Python/Pygame. You fight corrupted creatures, build your deck, defeat bosses, and evolve your cards as you progress through story-based encounters.

This started as a learning project. I’m 56 years old and began learning Python because I wanted to challenge myself and build something real. The project grew much larger than expected, and at some point it started to feel like an actual game.

This demo is still early. The core loop is playable, but balance, UI polish, sound, animations and overall game feel are still being worked on. Some things will be rough, some things may be too easy or too hard, and some systems are still experimental.

What I’m looking for most right now is honest feedback.

Does the core deckbuilding loop feel fun? Are the cards and enemies understandable? Does the game feel like something worth continuing? What should I focus on next?

The demo is free to download. If you want to support the project, you can choose to pay what you want, but feedback is much more valuable to me at this stage.

Thanks for taking a look at Evolution.
