It's mostly the odd distinction of "real" or "normal" men. Implying that gender-nonconforming/more feminine men are somehow faking being men or are less of a man because of their bodies. You're also catching trans men when you're saying this - a lot of trans men have 'giant tits' and/or a 'pronounced ass' and they're still men. Some may even choose not to get top surgery, and that won't change. Also cis men with gynecomastia, though they're obviously a completely different case.
There is also something I think is important to keep in mind here: this is a porn game. A porn game where exaggerated bodies and body parts, playing with gender and gender presentation, and femininity in general is a core part of the fetishes here. And thats also why it has a large appeal to a LGBT audience - the lines between genders are blurred, and you get to play in that in-between space. It's a space where you can have silicone tits and an ass the size of your head, but still be seen as a guy - or have that questioned in a fun sexy way.
Basically, a man can be a lot of things. A man can be even MORE things in a openly fetishy queer space. You don't have to get it- you just gotta respect it, yknow?
I spent the whole game half holding my breath, waiting for something to go wrong. For granny to trip, or have a heart attack, or simply pass in her sleep. Without someone there to check in on her regularly, unsure if her grandson wrote... I appreciate her neighbor calling her. And her cat coming home! Naughty boy...
So glad this had a sweet ending :) Check in with your loved ones, as well as the elders in your community everyone.
I suppose it's more of a personal taste thing! I personally enjoy the sort of meta self awareness the trope plays with; I know logically he's been programmed to say all this, but it's fun to play along and pretend he *does* have a true life inside the game and is aware of us. That's the story the dev want's to tell, and it's a story I like seeing!
But for you, it might break the immersion and isn't as fun. And that's okay I think! Not every story works for everyone.
I DO agree in that I wish there was a way we could stop hurting him when he asks. But the dev themselves said it was kind of a storytelling aspect too- you made the choice to go further, spend the money you need to make getting it easier/to be sadistic, and you gotta live with that. You treated it like a game and didn't care how it'd affect Harvey, so in the realm of the story that's a decision you have to see through.
It's also me mostly me wanting more endings/dialogue lol, I just love discovering the different parts of these games.
Ahhhh this is so cool! I'm a BIG fan of yandere love sims, but I'm ALSO a big clown/commedia del'arte nerd!! Seeing a Pierrot and Harlequin (or his other name, Arlecchino) is very exciting. I love their dynamic, it mimics their historical rivalry and their love triangle with Columbine. One much like the triangle here, though she always goes with Arlecchino. So glad to see we can smooch BOTH here!
One thing that stuck out to me was the design choices with their shapes. Harlequin has always been the one associated with diamond shapes, as well as bright colors- though the red and black scheme is more popular with him in recent years! Pierrot meanwhile almost always wore all white, with more flowy/poofy clothes and often black pom poms. I would expect to see more polka-dots, or at least a less patterned look. I'd be super interested to know why those choices were made!
Just... wow! I first played new eyes, and was very excited to see there was a larger demo. But this blew all expectations out of the water!
The art is gorgeous, and you really get a feel for the characters just by looking at them. The worldbuilding is subtle, but I find myself itching to know more about it! The social dynamics of the different floors, how different mods are seen/treated, and just how the world is set up in general... I really enjoy that kind of thing and I was really excited to see hints of it here!
My favorite part was definitely the actual work/choices. I liked how the interview had different "routes" of questions/subjects and while you could revisit the broader topic if you moved on, you still could only choose one answer for certain things. Perhaps its a normal set up for this kind of game, but having the interview questions be broken up into smaller and smaller pieces was really nice. It also provides a lot of replay-ability which is one of the biggest things I look for in games!
Also I would die for Nibbles.
I applaud the devs work on this demo, and I eagerly await updates and the full game release.
