Thanks for the clarifying questions!

Yes, bundles need to stand on their own, so a 2 or joker or red 3 used in one bundle cannot also be used in another bundle.

Because red 3’s don’t have a “rank” unto themselves apart from being in a bundle, you wouldn’t have to discard one if you got a bad bomb. When I play, I have a separate pile for all of my wilds, and wait to add them to my bundles at the very end. You could choose to add your wilds to a bundle at any time though, or even move from one bundle to another, as long as again you only use each wild once.

Tried this out with my seven-year-old last night. He beat me 3 games to 1! Guess I need to work on my strategy skills, hehe.

I continue to be impressed at the speed with which you can release new stuff!

Oof, harsh but makes sense! Just played a round with that rule in mind and ended with 8 herbs left over. Feel like that’s pretty decent for a first play-through!

Clarifying question, the rules state that Eating always comes immediately after Healing, so then does that mean that once healed the creature will immediately eat one of the herbs that was used to heal it?

Great idea to combine playing cards and mancala this way, going to try it tonight!

I recently had the opportunity to pick this up and give it a try. It’s a delightful game! I don’t think you spelled out if sequences can be moved to “empty” arms, but I play with this option and it makes the game just a little bit easier. Great way to spend 10-15 minutes, I’d say I win about 1/5 of the time, which feels satisfying enough. :)

Ooh, challenge mode with characters sounds neat. :)

I think removing a rank of Calm Mind would be fine. The idea of discarding a resource to get a bonus of some kind sounds like it’d be pretty useful. I played a round yesterday (early campaign) where I got the two hazards back-to-back after defeating only one Knowble and it made it essentially impossible to defeat anything else that run. Having another ability in the back pocket that might help with that scenario would definitely be good.

Makes sense to me to make the King of Clubs have a greater difficulty. Max of 7 will make it really, really tricky until much later in the campaign.

I second partial unlocks instead of the knowstone big box.

FWIW, might consider a counter wheel or the like rather than individual Knowstone tokens. Easier to “save state” between games if you have to put everything away or move locations.

Very much enjoying this game. It took me seven turns before I got my first victory; it felt very satisfying! So far I have felt like the balance between costs and power for the abilities has been good, but haven’t started working towards masteries yet.

Thanks for making a printout of these rules, it will definitely make it easier to share the game with my kids. :)

Congrats on getting this listed on BGG!

A simple game with an abundance of delightful dialogue. Very impressive to construct a full-fledged game with avatars and art and movement in such a short amount of time!

A great story and lots of action, centered around choices, which is what every good interactive fiction game should strive for. I appreciated that there was a “restart from last decision” option, and that the game told you (if you get to the end) whether or not you got the ‘best’ ending. Game was long enough to be interesting, but short enough that playing through it multiple times wasn’t annoying. Great job!

Very short game, easy to play, and lives up to the theme of the pets being just kind of terrible. ;)

Just played my first game, thought it was indeed fast, easy, and fun. I kept expecting it to get harder, but I only felt tense when I first started. Maybe I just got really lucky with my rolls, but I rarely felt like I was in danger of losing the game completely.

Finished with 6 food, 0 wounds, and 16 cards in my hand. Maybe a few more challenges and a few less ‘keep this card’ events? Or saying 2-7 is a miss instead of 2-6?

Overall I liked it, but not sure I’d play through it more than once without some changes to make it more challenging.

I am a terrible procrastinator and only now just finished reading this review. Thank you so much for taking the time to play and think about my game, I’m ever so grateful. I’m glad you enjoyed it, and I agree with your critiques of how my use of ‘leads’ isn’t really in keeping with how the LEADS system ‘intended’. ;) Guess I had a game idea and shoe-horned it in there a bit, but at least it still makes for a fun-enough game. :)

I love that the rules are laid out like a brochure for a wilderness area or state park. Nice touch!

Quick update, finally have the completed manual up. :)

Finally finished the manual, this game is now actually playable! Let me know if there’s anything I missed, or if you have any questions, comments, or concerns!

Hi! I just submitted a very-much-incomplete manual for my game The Road Leads West. Wanted to make sure I got something in before the deadline. I will try and finish it up and publish a better version later tonight. Thanks for making this jam and for making the LEADS system! First time in forever I’ve been able to make a game from scratch in under a week!
