So quaint. The palette and music were a really nice choice for the vibe of the setting. Took me a while to leave the workshop, but I managed!
The other professors were pretty funny :P
Singularily charming, I must say! It's clear there was something more intended here (picking up various items, assembling the machine, then using the machine for additional puzzles and whatnot), but obviously a jam is a jam. You managed quite a bit of content here nonetheless, with quite a relentless vibe (helped by the music and animations/art of course). The fact every single line of dialogue seemed to go over like 4-5 screens minimum actually became a little humorous after a while - they really can't stop talking, can they? Nicely done! (although the theme was a little shoe-horned in perhaps [not that I'm one to talk]).
Not at all the genre of game I would think to associate with ink, but hey it works!

This was a lot of fun! The narration was stellar and I really loved the feeling of actually moving into the teleporter and seeing what happened.
(Also, is this a Binksy? I was thinking of doing one but realized it was way out of scope for how much time I had last weekend haha)
Yes! This was my first exploration with Binksi. I thought it would be just constraining enough to pull off a game in a weekend. The one thing I overlooked was the time it took to compose music. Otherwise, Binksi was a great way to get something up and running rapidly!
Aw is this made with bitsy? Art and animation are really nice. I can make out what various objects are, and the colour palette is nice (the low sat gives an old-timey sepia feel that feels 1800s, was this intentional?). The dialogue between the characters felt natural. I kinda wanna explore more locations and find and maybe build things; and the portal idea is neat, I wonder how it could play into exploration and problem solving.
Yeah, it’s bitsy+ink = binksy! And I did make the palette choice based on the era the story takes place in. My second choice was one with an orange hue, giving things a copper tone. But I wanted a little more color. Some greens and blues.
Thanks for checking it out! It’s a jam project, and I’m not certain that I’ll continue it (never have taken a jam to completion). But I feel the same way about wanting to explore more of the world and relationships between characters. So, who knows!
The art and music are nice. Good steampunk vibes. I was hoping for a possibility of failure if you make the wrong choice; it doesn't seem to be possible after a second playthrough, but that's ok. Nice seeing another game that goes beyond standard Ink (this is binksi, right?). Nothing wrong with standard interactive fiction, of course, but the great thing about Ink is its versatility in other applications as well, which binksi demonstrates.
Thanks for the compliment. Admittedly, I struggled with the music, and it is not at all what I initially wanted. Glad to hear it worked out ok.
I ran out of time to do much more with it than what is here. Failure scenarios will have to be left up to the imagination, I’m afraid!

i also had trouble getting out of the workshop but eventually made it. the enthusiastic writing carried me through, even though i knew it was thermionics the whole time...
haha! I kind of fell in love with the sci-fi jargon trope and let it go a bit too far. That and the over-the-top dialogue had me laughing hysterically at my own work at one point. I just could not find the nerve to cut some of the content.
A simple game with an abundance of delightful dialogue. Very impressive to construct a full-fledged game with avatars and art and movement in such a short amount of time!

The dialog was well done, even though I’m personally not the biggest fan of the 1800s-style speech.

The dialogue is great, 11/10, but I feel like I interacted with everything and am unsure if I still missed something. I'm basing my assumption on the thumbnail showing the character outside, although I definitely never went there.

There is a way to get outside, yes. It’s just a matter of interacting with everything in the workshop. The tables have multiple tiles to touch, by the way.
