This has a lotta promise, but this is definitely still very much in alpha with loads of things that should be refined to make the experience much more enjoyable.

The game tended to crash or freeze a handful of times for me when doing things in the UI, namely when buying several things at the shop and using items on pokemon, but it pretty much happened whenever at any point, leading to me saving after doing anything lmao.

Gameplay overall feels great when the game is working as intended, but the same applies. I'm not sure if it's because of my GPU or if this was experienced by anyone else, but certain attacks I used would also cause the game to stop and softlock which ended up being very frustrating considering the level scaling gets crazy pretty early in. Also some minor tidbits I wanna reccomend are having the "swap pokemon" be the first option when in battle and opening the party. It's the default in normal pokemon games, and helps with the flow of the gameplay. Also, some other small things like knowing if pokemon have abilities or not. Pikachu can paralyze, but I have no clue how to check if it has static or not.

That said, grinding is not that bad, but there are many points where I would enter a wild battle, flee, make an input to move, and instantly run into another battle for about 4-5 times which feels unusual, and also unintended so I feel I should point it out. It helps with grinding though, but is something that should be tweaked considering I will walk out of grass or not even move and run into a battle.

I've only managed to get a handful of grunt battles in, and am not sure how long this demo is, but I think I'll wait on more progress to be made before returning to it. I would love to see this game get more attention and maybe more people on the dev team to ease work as a result because this really can become something special with some more polish gameplay wise. The HD2D look is fully realized here and I LOVE the custom sprites and battle animations. Not sure what the full game intends to be, if there will be one, but good luck to you!

Thanks for the great feedback, I'm glad you really enjoyed the game!!

I do plan on fleshing things out more after the jam period ends so I may mess around with how certain mechanics work, but as it is now yes that is essentially how the game's meant to be. My hope was for players to incentivize trying out each beast at least once throughout their playthrough, but I see how that can make it really difficult since it's not something that's the norm with there being only 3 useable slots. Common critiques from what I've gotten seem to be things subject to change which I can continue to test out leading to a later release, so I hope you're looking forward to more! ^^

thank you and many blessings for this <3

I was really curious how people would take on the combat system and if there would be certain strategies made by some, so this is really great input/feedback!

The way you went about it was essentially what the main gameplay loop was intended to be with it being a grindy roguelike style game, but I agree that sometimes getting a full crew wipe can make it hard to recuperate so I might have some fail safes for anyone who wants to get the ball rolling again after reaching a hard spot.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your time with SoldierSlain and hope you're looking forward to more!!! :D

Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!!

Thanks for the feedback!

The gameplay right now is designed to have the player constantly swapping/testing out some of your battle units as you progress through a run which was intended to keep players up to trying out new strategies, but I can see how with certain stat loadouts and skill trees there are it can get pretty confusing and lead to getting wiped easily especially for the very start.

thank you so much!!!  ^^

I'm glad you had fun with the story & characters, they're my two favorite parts to work on in games like this! Yeah I totally agree that combat is the hardest thing to get right in any RPG really, so knowing it plays well with it being the main focus is really reassuring.~ Now that you mention it I might add some more features to the units as they level up outside of battle too because I feel like it could really make each feel more unique, maybe map traversal or mounts or something.. I've got a few ideas in my head now LOL.

Really fun gameplay and the visuals/map design plus that killer synthwave ost are giving me 80s arcade machine vibes just without all the quarters lost, love it!

I hope you're able to add to this one after the jam, I can see myself getting lost in this for HOURS tryna get a perfect run in every level.

someone keep me posted on when somebody else makes a version of this with more stuff in it~

OMG THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP! Did this for playtesting reasons and forgot to switch it back cuz I'm a dingus. So sorry about the inconvenience, a patch will be live shortly~

Development has gotten difficult over the last few months for various reasons, and the dates I set for myself to meet goals became less possible overtime. On top of that, because of how my personal life has been going my priorities are shifting to accommodate for such. INFINITE DREAM has been a pleasure to make and watch people play, but there's huge revisions that I feel must be made for the original game and even bigger revisions for the sequel. Mentally & emotionally, I'm taking a break before doing so.  Balancing development on the game, alongside other projects and my work has been difficult, but I do want to see it through to the end. This was a difficult decision to make, but I've decided to halt development for an unknown amount of time. I also think it's in my best interest to halt any updates and advertising until the game has finished development. So until then, thank you for your support, your streams, gameplay, and reactions. I'll see you all again someday.

Yes, this is a very rare thing that can happen! Before every game starts, a random number's generated that makes certain events play differently, which means the value you got makes Nolan shiny at the start of the game! This also means you'll have the chance to find the rest of the party members shiny as well! There's a handful of different things that can occur based on what number generates which means people might encounter different things from other's during their playthroughs. If you're familiar with UNDERTALE's "Fun Values" at all, it's comparable to that. Thanks for checking out my game, and tell your friend they have good taste! 💛

hey uhh I decided to act a bit foolish and show off the game in Times Square, seems like it went pretty well so I'm glad I went thru with it lmaooo

All side quests currently in the game can be found in the main town, aside from that, each of the open areas have a handful of energized minibosses to fight. There aren't too many secrets in the game yet. That'll change in the full game!

Here it is, y'all! The first taste of INFINITE DREAM: Behemoth Island is finally available for the public!

It consists of the entire first chapter of the game, the prologue, which is basically meant to show off what's happened years after the first game ended. There's a ton to see in this demo, and it'll give you a handful of things to do, so I really do hope you're looking forward to playing it while the game's still in development!

Hey everyone! I hope you've all enjoyed INFINITE DREAM thus far. After loads of planning, I'm finally ready to start showing off bits and pieces of the sequel "INFINITE DREAM: Behemoth Island"! The game page is now available for your viewing pleasure, with loads of more content on the way leading up to the game's release. Check it all out, here!

SURPRISE!!! Hype's stirring up for Behemoth Island with this sudden character reveal for Smack Studio now available on Steam Workshop!

So the secret boss fight is just there for fun, you can rebattle her as much as you'd like. Also no need to worry about re-entering the castle. The only people you can free from the cells are the Jewish men during the story segment. Hope this helps!

Hey!! I'm SUPER glad you've been enjoying INFINITE DREAM and all it has to offer! Being able to hear somebody's opinion on the characters & setting is always such a  treat! So the thing about Sheriff Rango's battle is that it's completely down to the luck of the draw. Don't give up, you'll be the first to one shot him eventually!!

Good luck and thanks for playing my game 💛💛

Yo I'm really glad you enjoyed my game! This project's just about done in terms of adding more content, but you can in fact look forward to the next installment, 'INFINITE DREAM: Behemoth Island' which is gonna a whole lot bigger in every way and have a lot more work put into it. I don't wanna go into detail about it just yet but keep an eye out 👍

Truly the most incredible work of fanfiction I've witnessed. Had me thinking it was legit. VERY heartwarming, lifechanging experience 10/10

this gets the AllosaurusNE seal of approval.
CONNOR LOVED IT!
