I had it set up siphon with enter or mouse so the player could choose to use the Arrows or WASD keys and not have to use the same hand for both. I suppose I wasn't clear enough in that regard.

I couldnt get past that vertical climb level to save my life lol. I like that lighting effect a lot. I wanted something like it to happen in my game when the siphon was active but i couldnt figure it out so i went with the rainbow super saiyan effect instead lol. The controls were solid. Visuals were clear. Good job.
The claw launch ended up being more to manage than as a helper ooverall so I resorted to just moving the cart but i still had fun regardless. I would suggest putting gold border around the other restorative item also. I kept eating it thinking it was trash, i knew the tree was safe because of that border. But thats really all I have to say about it. The graphics were good. The music was a jam. Well done.
I tried to keep it as simple as I could. I tend to fall victim to feature creep and ruin my own projects. It was a goal to not stuff more than I really had to into it lol. It was my first time doing a parallax background also, they can be a bit trickier than I thought they were going to be. I appreciate the feedback and the time spent playing. Thank you.
Yea, that's my bad. In hindsight, I realize I never once mentioned the crystal vanishing. After the jam, I plan to add a line about it. I'm happy that you liked the art and sound. It was my first time "scoring" a game from scratch, and I was worried the colors would make it look childish. I did the best I could, and the feedback really helps boost my confidence a lot. I appreciate that. Thank you.
Oof, which mechanics weren't very clear? I will make those changes after the jam to try and make it clearer. Thats a major oversight for me.
You have a similar view of it as my wife does as far as the siphoning mechanic. She thought I should make each block siphon at different rates or something along those lines, I resisted because I wanted as little RNG as I could and didn't want to fall victim of feature creep. But i do understand that the game is a bit barebones overall. I never considered allowing them to create blocks or put time back in the block or anything. That could have been cool. You're right though, this could have been expanded more in several directions.
As far as the use of AI, I don't really understand the level of negativity for it. It's great for people like me that don't have a team and aren't skilled in all categories. It keeps game development within reach for us while we hone those skills. It's the people that let the AI make the whole game for them without any real changes or input from the user that are giving it a bad rap.
Thank you for the comment and the feedback, I really appreciate it. I'm glad you enjoyed the game overall.
