Hi everyone, I have released Subtitle Surgery, a small local-first quality-assurance tool for SRT and WebVTT subtitle files.
It checks timing overlaps, reversed timestamps, reading speed, broken English words, awkward CJK line breaks and punctuation, cue numbering, and signs of encoding damage. The subtitle text stays inside the downloaded HTML file and is not uploaded to a server.
The Free Check inspects the first 20 cues. The Creator Edition is a USD 12 one-time purchase with unlimited cues, repaired-copy download, and a text report.
This is an early release, so feedback about false positives and missed problems is especially useful. Please do not share confidential dialogue when reporting an example.
