The level design was easy to follow but also unsettling with all the random passageways and the game was generally terrifying! I also really liked the gun mechanics!

Hey bro, I'm glad you had fun!

The game still needs some work (especially with giving the player direction) but nonetheless, I'm glad you enjoyed playing and your feedback's very helpful!

(P.S. the bottle can't be picked up, it's essentially a "side-story prop" which may or may not have a hidden meaning.)

Just played through the game, and gotta say it was a super unique experience and well executed. I thought the note about the trash was a little too confusing but aside from that I really enjoyed playing this game!

Cool game. The concept of an oppressive government isn't new, but still one of my favorite tropes and I really liked the way you set the tone for it with the propaganda posters and emails and such. The only thing I'd suggest you change (if you decide to add updates) is the wait time between pods coming in, at first I thought maybe the game glitched but eventually, I caught on.
Overall intriguing short dystopian horror.

Hey, so idk if you even make games anymore but I stumbled across this game and I gotta say, it's an interesting concept. Obviously it needs work and more content, but I like the vibe of "lowpoly warthunder" that I'm getting. I'll check it out again if you continue development 🤙

Amazing game, the art style was on point!

Hello, I'm sorry about the inconvenience! Giving the player direction is admittedly something that I've been behind on in development and I should have made it more clear and what to do. In the future I plan on making a "tutorial encounter" with the ghost child and the wraith to inform the player on what to do. As of now the game is still in Alpha and is prone to problems so if you check back later in a month or two, there should be some improvements.

In case you're going to try it again, all of the controls are in the game's description.

Thanks for playing my game!

This was a lot of fun and has huge potential, I also loved the way you made a dynamic main menu. And the moving mechanic is something I've never seen before and the art direction is on point. The general theme kinda reminds me of a mix of Mario and MegaMan but still with its own twist. The moving mechanic was cool, but at times it got a little annoying having to wait for my energy to regen, maybe you should add battery pack items that you can pick up, specifically after you jump over some spikes, cause otherwise I'm just kinda sitting there awkwardly and it's kinda boring. Maybe I'm just too impatient lol. Also, the levels seemed a little too difficult. I couldn't get past the 4th level and after a few tries I rage quit. It would help a ton if there were checkpoint(s) so the player wouldn't have to play the whole level again.

Overall it's a good game and has lots of potential, it just needs some things worked on.

This was a cool little project. Considering it was made in 24 hours I won't critique it much. It was fun to play though.

As a game developer, I've always liked the idea of making educational AND fun games, so I always appreciate it when people make things like that.

I like the concept and I think this game can be put on a math site or something. However, it can use some improvements. Some of the game art (the stick figures especially) could use some improvement and if you wanted to go a step further and overhaul all the graphics to make the game look less "math-game-like", I think that would draw in a wider audience. Also, if you added different difficulty settings or levels that would that could be really useful for more beginner players. Overall I like the type of game you've made, I hope you update cause it definitely has some potential.

This was done really well, the realistic graphics and the nearby footsteps of ~something~ was creepy af and had me on edge for most of the time. I also loved the riddles/puzzles the way you eventually combined all the notes into one and wrote "you are worthy of love" or something like that. I'm really interested in games that have real-life experiences/stories mixed in so I hope you continue with this project, great job!

Cool concept, I really like the name and the music was also kinda a vibe. I think there's a lot of potential around this tile-based concept. I understand the challenge behind the idea, but I did find it a little annoying having to wait two seconds before every move. It made sense with the obstacles, but when trying to just get around places it became kind of annoying. Also, the sound effects could have been better but at the same time, I understand that this is a prototype built in a week so I won't really hold it against you.

If you're thinking about continuing with this project I think there's potential, you just gotta work out some of the kinks and spice it up a bit. Otherwise good job, making even a game like this in a week isn't easy.

I think the issue I had with the (in-game) art is that it's a little bit lower quality from cutscenes and other game art. So after seeing the main menu and cutscene art I was expecting something of the same level of detail from the gameplay. It's good on its own but when mixed with the higher quality stuff it's a little underwhelming. With a lot of the scenes (the ones with trees) it looks fine, but the background and grass when you first spawn in looks a little under detailed if that makes sense. Apologies if I came off as rude at all, just trying to be constructive.

Happy to hear that you liked the ambiance and the general idea, it's something that's evolved all throughout development and I put quite a bit of work into it so it's nice to see it's paid off.

I agree with the newspaper behind the text, I'll fix that in a later update. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed playing. Haha I agree something about the lighting needs to be changed. It looks fine on my screen back when I've seen other people play it I'm like, holy crap that's really dark. As for the sounds, those were mostly from freesound.org lol.

Yeah, it took me a little while to get the atmosphere right. Glad you liked it and thanks for playing!

I relate a lot to what FlashEddieRocks said, so I'll try not to reiterate what they just wrote.

Here's three topics that I've chosen to rate this game out of.

Invoked Feelings of Hopelessness and Despair:

I love the emotion and hopelessness that the story invokes. It reminds me a lot of The Long Dark. Especially in the main menu when the piano starts playing, it's really sad and done in a way that's absolutely fucking beautiful. I think you slayed it on executing the main menu. I see very few games succeed in achieving this type of emotional atmosphere that the player can feel.

Gameplay Direction:

As for the goal/what to do, it felt a little directionless. I felt like I was given too much freedom and too little information to know what to do with it. You should try adding some hints or something to make it a little more clear on what to do. Maybe a mini tutorial kinda thing.

Also, it would be super helpful if there was a map button cause I often got lost and had no idea how to get to a specific destination.

Art:

The art style in the introduction dialogue was super cool looking, I kinda feel like the dialogue loaded a little bit too slow but that might just be me.

Generally, the art in the scenes had a cool feeling to it, but seemed a little outdated. I also had trouble reading the menu text cause it looks like it's half in another language or something. Don't get me wrong, I think it looks cool, it's just hard to make out what it's saying.

In Conclusion:

In conclusion, this game has a lot of potential and I look forward to see its full release. The atmosphere is done really well and its got an interesting story and great soundtrack. I think the main things that are holding this game back are the lack of direction and the gameplay art needs an overhaul. All things considered, this is a great game, just needs some work.

Hell yeah, you should definitely go for it!

Dude, this was super good! From the evolution of the levels to the soundtrack and the curve balls you started throwing at the player with the misdirection. As for any suggestions, I think you should change/remix the sound as the levels go further so it's less repetitive and make the game look a little less prototypy.  I played all the way through it and had a lot of fun. Great game!

The general feeling of the game is really unique and I love the robots. The combat was also pretty fun. I think this game has a lot of potential, just right now it feels really prototypy. I think some things that would improve the game would be to add some obstacles/level design and spice up the weapons with recoil and stuff. Overall it was very enjoyable to play.

Dang, although simple this was super fun to play.  It did get a bit boring after a while but if you added more levels and a silly story to it I think what you got there is a masterpiece. I hope you end up updating it in the future cause I will play!

lol that video was really entertaining to watch! Thanks a whole bunch for your feedback I'm glad you enjoyed it

Damn, that was really cool! While at first the game felt kind of directionless, I figured out that that's the point of the game. Just free roam around and listen to the spirits emit their songs. It was actually really peaceful once I realized the point of the game isn't to win, but just to chill.

Really creative idea, I like it. It does feel a little bit empty with the empty shelves but for a beta the game seems to be on a good track and has a lot going for it so far. Looking forward to the final release!

Thanks for sharing man! This was my first attempt at making a horror game and I hope to do more like this. Glad you liked it! :)

I really love the art style. It looks very professional and detailed, yet abstract at the same time. The game kinda reminds me of Solace Void (https://www.instagram.com/solace_void/ link if you're curious) looking forward to the full release!
