There are now post-jam builds. The invisible walls bug is fixed, and some of the sprites have been replaced by commissioned sprites specifically for this project. I'll continue replacing them over the coming days, and I apologize again for the oversight in the jam build. It was truly unintentional and I regret the error.

Thank you for taking the time to play the game!

I sincerely apologize for missing the AI disclosure on the game assets. I have already paid artists to start on a full set of new sprites (I was doing it anyway) and I'll get those verified-human-drawn sprites in ASAP. I feel really bad about this and I'm upset at Itch for making it hard to spot.

Invisible walls are certainly a bug! I just checked the web build and it does seem to have this problem. That's embarrassing.

The G key for "god mode" is for testing. :-)

The game freezes between levels because it's blocking on the level generator, and the level generator can fail in rare cases. Just the reality of scrambling for a game jam, to be honest.

Thanks again for the bug reports. I know the game is really rough right now. I'll release a post-jam build in the next couple of days.

What are the dimensions?

I'm making the world's first and only erotic narrative no-combat traditional roguelike. It's a mashup of Nethack and a horny Twine game, with a latex drone theme. It's inclusive as fuck and furry friendly.

The initial prototype is out (https://afterdork.itch.io/latex-drones) and I'd love to find an artist who's as interested in this as me to make it as extensive and polished as possible. The UI needs a ton of work, but the engine is really flexible and ready to support a lot more content. There are a huge variety of experiences we could create.

The assets at the moment (not set in stone) are 32x32 static tiles and sprites. It can be pretty abstract, as long as it's readable to players. Or it can be badly drawn at higher resolution as long as it's representative of the game state.

I'm very open to creative collaboration here if you have a direction you'd like to take it, a personal kink you want to include, or even if you want to try applying the same engine to a different kinky theme under a different title. I'm also willing to help you out with any projects you might have, as a programmer. I have decades of hobbyist game dev experience and I can work in JavaScript or Godot.

I'm open to paying artists (and I do for many projects), but I'm finding that starting the conversation there for this project makes it hard to find folks who "get it." And I'd honestly rather find someone whose skills are rough but are excited about the material and can bring their own ideas. So artists looking for paid work are welcome to contact me, but I require that you have some kind of NSFW low-res pixel art in your public portfolio, or some other clear way of creating a high volume of art on a budget.

I'm not open to using AI art. This might seem hypocritical since I'm using AI to code, but I view functional computer code and visual art as fundamentally different things. I could take the easy path and just generate everything, but I'm not doing that.

I'd love to contact you about a collaboration or commission on another latex drone related project...but your contact info isn't on your profile! You can click through to mine and send me a note if you're interested.

Hi there, I'm working on a latex-themed game and I'm looking for an artist to work with. You don't have any contact info on your profile, but if you're interested in a collaboration or commission, you can email me at afterdork@fastmail.com.
