In hindsight, I could have explained some of the game mechanics more. The full game was going to include an old styled instruction booklet, but that should have been including in the demo as well, that's my bad.

Also rebinding keys, that's also going to be added when I work on the game again.

Edit: I've added brief explanations for the crafting and recipes to the game page. Note, you need items in your inventory for these to display anything.

The game is intended to look and feel like a Gameboy Color game, so you get the same control scheme as on that system: Movement + A, B, Select, and Start, mapped onto keyboard. There is no mouse support because the Gameboy didn't have a mouse.

About some of the cons:

I've actually fixed the scene with the father talking to Alex the demon while holding a knife today, it sounds more natural now. I'm also constantly rewriting scenes to flow in the same way.

The sprite size this is a constraint of the engine, specifically the free movement system. If I ever find a solution for that, it's getting fixed immediately.

I'm thinking of removing the pauses in text, or at least lowering the amount of them, since that seems to be a common complaint.

And with the faces, that's just my artstyle mostly, but it is done on purpose sometimes :)

This will be fixed soon, but I forgot to mention that the key to switch characters is “L”.

I've never gotten a sound bug before, though I think it would have something to do with how rpg maker mv compiles sounds when deploying a project, and how the plugin for the 3d sound is a bit jank sometimes with that.

I'm using v1.6.2 as well.
It's also the steam version if that makes any difference.
EDIT: I fixed the problem, my pixi.js wasn't up to date, even through steam said it was.

It is below all my mog scripts.
I also tried it at the bottom of the script list, but it still shows the same error.

I got everything set up just like the readme said, and I'm still using the default config file, but I get this error.
