Thanks for your question! We're currently in between projects and while we'll never use Unity, switching to open source without a dedicated in-house engineer is pretty out of our future. But there's definitely a regular conversation in-house about engines and where we want to invest in development.

About your Steam Deck and Linux question: even though we haven't yet received official verification from Valve for Steam Deck compatibility, many of our fans have reported that Hill Agency runs smoothly on their Steam Deck. However, at the moment, we don't have the resources to port it to Linux.

We really appreciate your interest in our games, gotenks2029! We're currently in between projects, but we'll share updates once we've got something in the works. About Steam Deck: while we are not yet officially verified by Valve as being Steam Deck Compatible, we have heard from fans that Hill Agency works great on their Steam Deck.

If after playing the game you try to use the New Game button, but it just takes you to Hill's Office with Mary sitting down on the couch and all the Evidences and notes you've gathered so far are on the Evidence Board then congratulations you've just found a super rare bug! It only seems to effect players who got the game the first week it was out. Our attempts to fix it have been unsuccessful, but we did find a work around in the meantime.

The Fix:
Delete the "Initial Save" save file (full name of the file to delete is "InitialSave.sav") within your app data folder, open the game and hit new game without hitting Continue first.

Once you've done that this issue will never show up again.

This fix will not erase your current progress and the save file will automatically be recreated when starting a new game.

A refresher for finding save files:
Open File Explorer and navigate to: File location: C:[Username]\appdata\local\HillAgency\Saved\SaveGames
