I was on the lookout for some launcher games for inspiration and found this one. Was just going to play it for a minute and ended up getting every upgrade & achievement :D Very well done, loved the intro and the pace of the upgrades. Great job!

One piece of feedback is, it'd be nice to have some indication of height aside from a number, like a slight gradient that goes darker and more blue the higher you go for example. It'd make it a bit more interesting to look at as you hit the really huge jumps.

Anyways, fun game 🫡

Oh my god please tell me you composed that banger of a track specifically for this game?! It absolutely RIPS, I like it more than the recent DOOM game music :'D

Otherwise, nice job on the boss, especially the laser attack looks amazing. Good foundation guys, just needs some juice and some more complex mechanics and it'll be awesome! Especially for a fresh team this is very impressive.

Thank you! We are definitely going to continue developing it 👍

Very good execution on the idea, SO many levels wow. I'm still playing, at 21 now. Level 16 gave me a lot of trouble for some reason :D I'm really impressed with the design, so simple but so clever and clean. Excellent job!

Btw, we saw this game quite soon after the jam finished and thought "damn someone had the same idea as us". I think it's similar in spirit at least - perhaps you could play ours too? :D

Very fun and well made. I love the writing of how the cat talks, very accurate xD

Gameplay is simple, but DAMN this looks good! Great illustrations and amazing vibes, definitely the best I've seen in this jam so far. My vote for art would go out to this one :)

This is crazy polished, very impressive for a game jam game! I played for quite a while, survivor mechanics are very addicting. Would be nice to tweak the exp curve as I found the upgrade frequency slowed down to where it started to drag a bit - in similar games they hit you with rewards a bit quicker, I think.

Great game overall, well done.

Something about the visuals is just really nice, well done on that! The game has this hypnotic quality, I zoned out and played for a bit, good sign. Well done :)

Simple but nice!

Wow, that was just incredible. The atmosphere, the writing, it almost feels like a full game.

I felt uneasy, intrigued and just entrenched in this.

Amazing work!

Cool idea and nice animations! Would be cool to tie the two ways to complete a level together somehow, maybe you can only complete a part of the level as alive Ben and then need to die to do the other part. Either way, good job!

Hehe, I immediately got stuck in some car but they couldn't quite reach me. Second attempt went much better and I discovered the joy of stacking the hell out of fire rate. Fun game, I like the constant BASS, and the intro is funny. Always amazing how addicting upgrades are, it's almost a cheat code. Well done!

Oho, I'm very happy it did! I was actually playing a lot of Baba is You prior to the jam, so it was definitely an inspiration. I mainly stole the design of putting a player in a room where the only exit is possible if you learn a core mechanic (like kicking or destroying a box).

Glad you liked it!

Aah, I see now! Yeah this would be a lot clearer with some feedback (pointing hand cursor when mousing over the book and of course like others mentioned, visual/audio feedback when hitting/missing the notes).

I'll try again in the evening, thanks for explaining it :D

Fun mix of clicker and tower defense type games!

Amazing how just a bit of screenshake and some particles bring the combat to life, nice job there.

Bit of feedback: not sure if there was any indicator of my main tower's health? Sometimes enemies would walk into it and nothing would happen, and sometimes I'd die and have to restart. Not sure why archers wouldn't shoot enemies sometimes either, pressing F would show the range as touching the enemies, but they wouldn't shoot.

Either way, great job - it plays nicely, and could really flourish with a bit more polish & variety!

Cool idea, I quite liked figuring out each tool and how to use it. LOL at the ouija board, of course it would... do that haha xD

Nice art too, quite stylish and consistent.

I tried multiple times and I think I don't get it, oops xD

The tutorial didn't mention the beat mechanic at all, unless I missed it somehow, but from the description I get that it's a rhythm game.

So I choose one or more creatures, which adds them to the bar above, then press the book and the track plays. Then I click... anywhere? To hit the notes? I time it to the beat and the visuals but get really poor scores, not sure what I'm doing wrong. And not sure what adding more creatures does, they don't seem to get summoned at all, I just get damaged and die eventually.

What am I doing wrong? I'd like to enjoy it, there's clearly a nice concept here!

Aw thanks, glad you liked it! Yeah the animations would take to the next level, we'll see if we can update it post-jam.

Thanks! The ability mechanic was my fav to implement, nice challenge as a programmer. Glad to hear the puzzles weren't trivial also :D

I like the feel of the game! The turret effects, the enemies, the spin attack, all satisfying.

Pretty addictive too. Though I found the turrets to be dying way too quickly, and couldn't find a way to keep them alive - feels like maybe there should be a non-attacking, cheap-ish barricade option to build a defense line?

With a bit of polish & balancing I could see myself losing some hours to this 👍

Wow, excellent! Took me a couple of tries, but super fun bossfight.

The music was just great, gets you in a groove of perfectly dodging the attacks and attacking yourself. It's cool that the boss has some timings where you can sneak in a couple charged hits, evokes some Elden Ring feelings.

Really nice work.

Edit: maybe one thing I'd wish for is to be able to attack mid-air, that'd be cool. Maybe you can and I just sucked at timing it? :D

The art is really gorgeous, I'm impressed how much there is and how consistent it looks!

The melee combat feels nice, meaty even if it is simplistic. Dodge op, distance is so long.

I found the cross carrying needlessly tedious, as I'd blast through the level killing enemies and having fun, and then would need to come back to carry it slowly with no challenge. Suppose it fits the subject matter, but it would be great if there was more to it.

Overall, amazing work!

Eeey nice one! Also pretty close, one heart left :D

Glad you had fun!

The clock was very easy, the game just asks the OS for the current time every frame (which is very inefficient, but hey, it's a small game) and puts it into a label. Godot is nice :D

Great idea for a story, the pieces were immediately evocative! I liked that you don't have to be perfect when putting the puzzle together, quite forgiving. Very meditative experience.

Nice sudoku twist, funny writing and nice illustrations. Excellent!

Very nice visuals and overall relaxing feel! Would be cool to have different plants requiring different "ways" to grow them, otherwise by day 3 it was getting a tad too repetitive. Nice job anyway!

I tried and tried and finally succeeded in throwing 2 bags into the trash - had to flick my mouse real hard. Quite difficult, given the 4s timer! The rest of the game was a bit hard to get to due to this, I couldn't quite figure out if I was supposed to do anything on the astral projection screen either. Could be nice if these two things were a bit more clear!

Aw, thanks! Yeah we wanted to make the environment a bit nostalgic with a random game thrown in just because. Glad you enjoyed it :D

Pretty sure Dave has a hairier back than you, Jamie 😎 ...probably.

Thank you!

I think it just took a while for me to understand that you can drag through the red blocks, I kept thinking they were "forbidden". Somehow the lock icon didn't register for me as applying to only that one block :D just being a dummy, hehe

Clever mechanic and super cute art! The sounds are absolutely hilarious. Level 2 was surprisingly difficult, it was cool to explore the mechanic and understand how it works. Thumbs up!

I loved that you can match differently! Had to replay it just to see every combination. Steve is awesome indeed :D

Great job!

Nice concept, I liked it! Would love to see more types of cats and animals that increase the complexity further.

I quite like the strategy, even had to replay it to win! Great job :)

Amazing, such a clean concept! Very cute cats too :D

Very cool looking creature and neat concept! I also quit at the reactor, the platforming was very difficult because the grapple didn't have very clear feedback when it's available vs when it's not. Great job nonetheless :)
