Just finished the 2026 testfire hotfix:

Very good first impressions! The spritework is super clean and the physics ar on point (the ost is already on a good path even with just 2 tracks, too); chef's kiss. The jump animation is so smooth I even tried to walljump like in super metroid, just in case...!

Thing is, I coincide with another comment: I didn't know right away you can actually hit the first enemy just standing. Either crouching or making that particular enemy a little taller would help a lot. I too think the map needs to be more clear (knowing which room the player is in, being able to move it around, etc) but I assume it's a demo thing and it will be better later on.

All in all, I'm quite impressed and I feel this promises a lot! Keep up the good work :>

I know, 10 months late, but I just played the game and read this right after.

A fae in the forest teaches you the song for the flute, which you can then use in the black tower to get an extra item.

Beat it after a couple tries! (In 385 turns, dunno if it is slow or not). Pretty solid, honestly; it had me hooked very fast with its mechanics (it did take me a couple runs to not die in the very first floors due to turns, but from that point on it was very fun) and the enemy design (you did so good with the limited space, they did awake the imagination). When I reached the end I was kinda sad it was already over.
My only "problem" is that... I never used any Power at all. They were both quite scarce and didn't sound useful.

(I found a glitch in one of the runs, too. I got to the stairs in the turn I was actually going to run out of turns, and in the next floor I was alive. The counter did say 0, but I didn't move before killing an enemy, so I don't know if walking would have been a game over.)

Yeah, I felt it was that way near the end (the spike corridors). But since it was my first time playing (and I didn't trust the flying kick much due to starting lag), I just couldn't help myself and stop midway sometimes to check for flying enemies, complicating stuff more for myself. Pretty sure it's an issue that wouldn't matter much on later playthroughs thanks to the intel one'd already have, tho!

Beat the first playthrough in 21 mins, although at least 2~3 of those was me trying to get the first health upgrade to no avail (I didn't get it in the end, but I did grab 2 afterwards). The controls were a tad too slippery and made things somewhat unfair, but it was cool nonetheless! I could see this getting expanded upon.

Yo, everything's amazing! Gameplay that sucks you in right away, visuals that look so good they are probably edible and super cool music.

As a note; I don't know if all upgrades are equally randomized, but I wish the enemy spawn slower was more frequent, as I barely got any and I find it pretty much mandatory to get to high levels.
