Had to play it after I saw that you didn't use an engine. Respect. It's a fun title.

My only complaint is that I wish I could control the spinning with the keyboard.

Thanks!

I'm really glad you liked it.

And, of course you were collecting stamps! What else could you have possibly been doing? :)

I really enjoyed this. Simple, cute premise, and creative use of the jam prompt. You did great!

Took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize which floors the cats wanted to go to, but I got there in the end. lol

Would love to get some feedback.

Your first game jam? This is genuinely impressive.

Puzzle platformers are a hard thing to get right (and I'm terrible at them) but I think you did a great job, here.

Don't be so critical of yourself. Making games is hard.

Keep making games!

I never figured out how to switch ammunition, and I think I pressed every key on my keyboard & mouse.

Consider varying the pitch and/or volume on sound effects. It's an easy change that has a big impact on how the game feels.

The pixel art is nice.

I had a lot of fun with this and managed to finish it.

The controls were a little awkward, though. Pressing X to shoot with WASD movement gave me pretzel-hands. Also, I still have no idea how to interact with the shop.

The music was awesome!

This game was extremely difficult. I tried for quite a while but could never get the hang of the controls.

I think, perhaps, the ball works against you a little too much. The player doesn't have direct control over moving right, which is necessary to score goals. That lack of rightward movement can lead to the ball just getting stuck on one of the players, which results in an unwinnable situation.

The theme was really nice, and I liked the animations!

Glad I could help. You're doing great!

  • As far as the control after bouncing - I learned to play around it by just letting go of the controls prior to a bounce. I managed to finish all of the levels anyway, so it's not a deal-breaker. The control shift is manageable if the bounce is at a shallow angle which, to be fair, is probably the "correct" way to play. Haha.
  • And I think the sound design is good, by the way. Looking forward to seeing what music you come up with, though.

This is solid, and my only suggestions are pretty minimal.

  • The winding mechanic is a little awkward on mouse and keyboard. I'd like to be able to adjust the wind after I let go of the control but it's not a huge issue.
  • There are a couple of really big difficulty spikes, but those can be smoothed out with some play-testing.
  • Not sure what to do about this, but the bouncing felt pretty awkward when I was trying to control the car during a bounce. Because the heading of the car can take an immediate 180, the controls can completely reverse instantly.
  • The sound effects feel right. Maybe consider some light, ambient music?

I have no idea what's happening in that trailer, but I'm hyped!
