Hello hythrain!

Thank you so much for putting together this event. It was amazing to be a part of it and so important for the development of my game.

I hear your thoughts and I've taken note of them. I think these are fair points that others have actually touched on as well. So I'll be looking into ways of improving those areas.

I really really want to watch you play the game. I've been on your youtube page already but I'm assuming you'll only put this up in a few days, right? By all means do let me know.

Once again thanks for everything and long live Feedback Quest!

This was amazing. Thank you so much, I really enjoyed watching you. I have to tell you, you're the first person I've watched playing and it's such great feedback that I needed dearly.

Love your style as well. Great content.

Let me try to excuse myself here with some of your complaints 😂😂

The music! This is a passion project and it's a work in progress. I'm a composer, so at some point I want to compose actual music for this. But still I felt like the game needed some soundtrack to be fully enjoyed during this development phase , so I decided on a playlist of 8 contemporary classical pieces. Most of them are from the impressionism period, which really fits the game very well. I decided to put that one by Ligeti in there as well, but just like you I always felt that it wasn't the right fit. Well, the playlist of those 8 tunes is on shuffle. And I think you got it twice?! Which isn't even supposed to happen. 😂

Anyway, I defaulted the music volume to 0 for this game jam because I know YouTube can mess with that. So I hope nothing bad happens 🙏

Now the missions. It was clearly a glitch. You failed the orbit mission and then it was supposed to go back to the mission control for you to try it again, but there's clearly a bug there and it didn't. Need to fix that. It's really a shame because yeah.. The game has more than 100 missions at the moment and off world pads and colony construction and space station construction implemented as well. In the end you can build a Dyson sphere around the sun! So yeah, a few hours of content already. Definitely need to playtest it more to try to find all of these bugs.

I've taken note of the rest of the feedback you had. Super useful and will take all that into account.

I'll patch the bug and if you ever feel like trying it again let me know! 🙏🙏

Cheers and really thank you so much!

Thanks a lot for giving it a go, especially since physics games aren’t usually your thing 🙏.
Getting used to the physics is definitely tricky and exploding at first is a bit part of the experience, you can think of lunar lander, for example. There is a tutorial screen before the game starts and the missions list can be opened with M while landed on the initial pad. It's all written on the controls list on the bottom of the screen, but I see how that might not have been clear enough on your first try. Your comment gave me the idea to add a tooltip for both M and E for missions and for shop while landed, so that was helpful feedback.
I’ll keep working on making that onboarding smoother. Really appreciate the feedback and the kind wishes!

Hey, I've played your demo, good work here!

It did get me hooked for some minutes! I was actually excited to keep going and see what was on the other side. I liked the economy system and the crystal extraction bit as well. More upgrades would only improve on the whole experience!

That being said, I think maybe some things can be improved in terms of balance:
1. The beginning was too unforgiving, it was quite hard for me to survive wave one and then losing all the dust until wave 1 was complete ended up being a bit frustrating.
2. It took me 4 or 5 tries to get the first dust out of the planet, and then that was not enough to buy anything, so there I had to go again and do once again what was already quite hard.
3. In the end you start upgrading and things get a little bit better. Still, upgrading the weapon which was my main focus barely did anything as I was upgrading. I was already at upgrade 10 and still was having a hard time fighting through the first 3 waves. With all this I just couldn't finish planet 1 before I lost some interest =/

But it's a great prototype so far and I think it can only get better.

Thanks!

This is great insight. This is kind of a hardcore rocket and physics simulator masked with a lightweight art style. I'm realizing more that the mechanics are a little bit unforgiving, especially when first starting and this might make people not progress further or become better at it. So yes,  I think I'll make the easy mode have free rockets instead of offering the 500cr right upfront. So basically one mode is "permadeath" the other is lightweight/ you don't lose progression style.

Anyway, the idea is that yes, after a few missions you have enough credits to feel like you have a lifeline and you'll survive even if you mess up. Credits are an infinite resource, especially after you figure out the first delivery/tourism/satellite deployment missions, then they will always be similar and if you mess up you can just do one or two more to get a couple more upgrades and 50 extra credits as insurance.

I've updated the game now with the new casual mode. If you want to try it again go for it =)

Hey!

This is a serious project, that has a clear direction and has clearly been worked on and matured for a while. Great job really.

I love Portal and Half Life so these inspirations are very clear but still you managed to make this stand on its feet.

Things that stood out to me:
1. The menu is a little bit cramped, especially since there is really only one game mode, I think you could try to condense the options a bit.
2. Of course a big part of Portal and Half Life is the lore. Perhaps you're still working on the writing since you wanted to get the concept going, but a sense of history or purpose or where exactly are we going with all of this would make it feel like we're not just solving puzzle after puzzle to reach to the next one.
3. Art style is great and things feel right a cohesive.
4. I played with a controller, I would maybe do a bit more of fine tuning with the controller. Diagonal walking could respond a bit better to the left stick position.

Anyway, I bow. This is super solid already.

Cheers

Hey!!

Looked into this game as I also have a thing for space and space travel. I like the concept a lot, I wish you would develop on it, maybe turn it into a roguelite with upgrades and different mechanics and worlds to explore.

At the moment a few things could be improved in my opinion. Floating into space is a little bit frustating as it might seem like you are under a planet but you missed it by a tiny bit and then you're gone. I think maybe a long jump that would make you lose a few seconds would be a bit more fun and really make that time attack mechanic stand out.

Cheers!

Agora sim, já está. Faltava o ficheiro .pck. Desculpa é a primeira vez que estou a partilhar um game feito no Godot, então ainda estou a aprender algumas coisas.

Dá uma vista de olhos e diz o que achas!

Eu gostei do teu. E foi altamente saber do primeiro astronauta Brasileiro. Não fazia ideia.

Abraço e sucesso para o canal.

Hello! Já está. Tinha posto o downloader como escondido. Dêem uma vista de olhos e digam se gostam. Já fiz subscribe no canal.

Um abraço de Portugal <3
