This game is so uniquely fun. The theme is presented and makes for a great replay. The game could use more level design to really push different upgrades but still a solid entry!

Oh wow this comment makes me so happy! Thank you so muchhhhh!!!!

The sandwich thingy is definitely intentional haha. I was playtesting with my brother and he somehow got stuck in between a bunch of shielded enemies, it cause him panic and he come back with a strong hatred for shields and bananas. Fit the vibe so well so I decided to keep it!

So happy when you pointed out the muscular monke! That was me 2 AM at night and I had to find an excuse to add muscular monke. Originally it was supposed to be integrated into another upgrade but I thought it'd be more funny to dedicate a whole downgrade to add a new sprite in. The wide hand is improvise after I forgot to draw a separate sprite. I already spend too much time drawing so I just stretch the sprite, works wonderfully in my opinion.

The New High Score calculator is easy to implement but playing on the web means I have to save the data in people's browser. I don't feel too good about all that so I just go with the trolling method. The code for it is in the game but I choose not to implement it. Now I glad I didn't haha.

Again thank you so much for this comment!! I just started my morning and coming to this message makes my day so muchh!!! Thank you for your monke / 10 review!!!

11 hours are plenty haha don't worry! Thank you for checking monke out!

Glad you're enjoying the game! Thank you!!

Thank you for your feedback!! Glad you're enjoying the game! The whole point of the game is to make you addicted to monke haha (that means procrastination) (seriously hope you didn't procrastinate tho). I'll definitely fix the slo-mo effect in the post-jam update.

Here's a little secret: I initially put the slo-mo to force everyone to appreciate the animation.

Will fix it tho.

The creativity with this one is insane. Truly feels like I found a hidden gem. I love how the occasional dialogue of this game would exist to just exist, like the auto-save feature which doesn't exist.

I can see the personality behind this, vibe check past! This game is nothing (literally) (in a good way please I'm not insulting). The dialogue is the highlight of the game, the dialogue is weirdly good and so silly,  I love it! The art is simple and works well with the silly tone of the game, I especially like the menu screen with the 3D title and the fish background at the end. The game is nothing but it brings me something. If that makes sense. I dunno. I'll have to start hanging signs so I don't forget.

Heyyy happy to see that you're enjoying the game!! Trust me man, I'd have more if time allows, I even plan to add boss fights with deadlines and empty wallets. And the downgrades are downgrades depending on which side you're on haha.

Thank you for your feedback! Glad you're enjoying monke.

Very glad that you're enjoying the game! Yes pretty much monke is wrecking havoc in all of our brain. I suggest eating some bananas.

Yup, of course. For starter, you could try to introduce the puzzles slowly, the first puzzle for me took some time cuz I was not used to the movement yet and learning the mechanic while trying to navigate take me quite a while. You could dedicate a level to teaching individual mechanics and then put them together slowly to make the gameplay feel engaging. This means giving really easy puzzles at first but taking a few win before facing a hard challenge would definitely help! Hope this help and good luck on your future projects!! (Or this one if you decided to continue)

I like the concept where you die to progress, the gameplay has potential to be a really cool puzzle game. The controls could use a little fine tuning but aside from that its enjoyable! I also love how the art is moody gray, is there a reason for this? It looks cool!

Cool art! I love the cutscene animation at the start, so cute. I understand your take on no instruction gameplay, but allowing player some agency or small goal before jumping into the main part would make the game feel more welcoming. Took me a bit with the puzzles but still a cool entry for your first jam.

Thank you for your suggestion! I actually plan to add more animals as representation of other brainy phenomenon (brain rot and such) but time doesn’t allow it :( Will definitely expand more if I decided to come back to the project tho

Ooh yeah that was on me, I’ll make sure to add a better warning next time. Glad you’re enjoying monke!!

Thank you for checking us out! Glad you’re enjoying monke! A lot of people told me they prefer dash more as well, you’re not alone haha

Thank you for your banana / monke feedback! Happy to hear that you had fun! The icon was within the list of stuff I wanted to do too, but time is so little I couldn't afford to add more visuals. Sorry for the misclick, if I'm ever gonna update the game I'll be sure to find ways to get around this.

Yup that was part of the planned featured. I lay the ground work for if you press space you'd dash but soloing the development makes me forget haha. Glad to see you enjoy the game! Thanks for checking monke out

Thank you! Great to hear you enjoyed it.

Also, it'd be great to add a little air control. I really like zooming in the air and a little steering would be cool since it means people wouldn't get penalize back to the start and forced to go slow.

Awesome game!! I knew the moment I saw Shovel played it on stream I gotta go check this one out. The camera work is incredible, make me happy every time even when I blasted off the map lol. Phenomenal work! Shame there are so many bugs and workaround for the game but it in no way affect the overall thrill of driving around at full speed (and shove my face down the ocean). Well done!!

Solid game! You really nailed the atmosphere! I love what you did with the particle and lighting, I can tell just from the title art that this is a good looking game! The bouncing mechanics is fun and could use even more feedback to add extra punch to it. Well done!

thank you! spend a great deal on vfx for the game :D

i like the concept, this has potential to become some really tightly designed platformer. some design techniques could be implemented to make the game better too, like coyote time or buffered input. I'd love to see the ability to set the jump button to a different key (since the controls took me a while to get used to). overall a great entry for your first gamejam! well done!

Awesome game! This one reminds me a lot of Sekiro with the stance mechanics. Really well made and fun to play! If I'm gonna add anything I'd just add a quick reset button because I died so much lol

i feel u man TvT happy for y'all to have created something so cool in such a short time! keep it up!!

cool game and clever theme implementation! for some reason i really love the 2d sprite of the boss haha, i think i'm supposed to be scared but i keep laughing whenever i look up and see his sprite cruising around the office. solid work guys!

this game is so cool! your take on the theme is implemented nicely and i still cant believe that you two create all the asset in just 10 days! awesome!

cool entry! i like the game art and the movement sound is strangely satisfying to listen to. the game loop is simple but its fun to play. solid work for your first jam! well done!

this game bring me back to when i first started unity lol, always so bumped with so many things to learn. very solid game! love the brackey reference also!

this one is a surprise for me, didn't think i'd stick to around to get to the end. the gameplay is fun, i love the little animation when u switch modes and the overall aesthetic compliment the gameplay really well. good job!

cool entry! i love the art and music, really relaxing. the beginning could use more tutorials and guiding since it took me a long while to figure things out, there are some stuff that arent immediately understandable right away. good work for your first jam!

this game reminds me of those drawing games to solve puzzles haha. except this one has more speed! solid entry! i like the options to use bouncing lines and that u got some cool level design to go along with it. solid entry! well done!

any chance you are high on something making this game? seriously this game is fun to explore! unexpectedly enjoyable!

good entry! figuring out the game took awhile and a sound is a bit loud. i can see the idea behind it tho, well done!

very solid entry! this game could use more player feedbacks to make the gameplay more punchy. nonetheless very enjoyable

the game play needs a little more polishing and refinement but nonetheless a good entry for your first jam!

glad to see you are having fun with monke! thank you!!

thank you so much for your feedback! glad you are having a blast with monke game!

yup, initially throwing is kind OP and i dont want to sacrifice the feel good aspect, so i push to add more stuff to dash. kinda overdid myself there
