ai can be helpful for checking code but when it comes to art, ai will always be worse than your own work no matter your skill level. ai can only copy from other artists, if you learn to draw it yourself not only will you be able to make more choices with your characters, your work will actually be your own. voice acting is super cool but not always necessary. you could always just add some free to use music instead.

take that inspiration you got from other games and channel it into something cool, thats something valuable that ai cant do!!! that is part of the fun of game development i think. taking all the stuff u thought was cool and making it your own way, if the ai does it for you its not really as fun yk?

i dont im sorry :( i only occasionally see them come up in my recommended.

if you are into scary stuff there is a youtuber who will play literally anything on the itchio page, manlybadasshero. hes played a lot of horror visual novels and narrative heavy stuff if you are into that kind of thing. but he mostly plays games with a lot of visuals :((

sometimes what i do is i look up a playthrough of a game i like and a lot of times i can find youtubers who upload stuff that is similar to that game. i dont play a lot of fully text based stuff, but a visual novel i liked recently was angelface. if i look up angelface full playthrough in the search there are a couple people who pop up and only upload horror indie vn playthroughs.

have you played road warden? i looked up text based games on google and it was one of the results. on youtube theres multiple people who have done full playthroughs of the game! its not the best strategy but it may help?

sorry thats not the best advice :( i havent played many games without visuals, but thats how i have found a lot of the channels i like so i hope it maybe helps you find what youre looking for

cabin crew life and route 404 are both very ai heavy and pretty bad in a funny way but i think you have to download them

i think it really depends. i love stories in games, most of the time i play games for the story, but i also mostly play horror games where you need a story to create anything scary. i think it really depends like hechelion said.. depends on the genre of your game and what you want to create for your player. are you trying to create an experience that guides the player through a world and that is the entertainment? or are you trying to create an experience that entertains them through challenges and building their skill? u just gotta think about what is important to you in your game.

not really. a lot of streamers are trying to click farm so they go for games with a lot of visuals that will keep the audience engaged constantly. but many youtubers who do videos only will do text based things because youtube videos have a slower energy. ive found a lot of vn playthroughs on youtube but its rare to see anyone stream them ever :( a live reading of a game might be pretty cool tho!

hi i am also a painter learning about game design and trying to develop some of my own stuff :)

i think what style looks best really depends on your game and the atmosphere you want to create! The same for easiness, whatever you are most used to is going to be easier. if you are a painter both might suit you well! i have found that with painting and pixel art many of the concepts are the same.

if you are also interested in pixel art this tutorial is really good! https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/threads/spriting-pixel-art-tutorials.33/ it helped me out when i first started

SO AWESOME!!!!!! your art is lovely and your writing is too<3

The entire point of text based games is for the author to use writing to create an immersion and connection. It is art and requires intention from the author to be meaningful in any way. If they can't even put in the effort to write it themselves there is nothing the author has to share that is worth looking at.

Sorry to be so harsh, but it would really just be super boring regardless of how fast it generates or what it comes up with just because there is no intention behind anything. Even if the author has a unique idea, the AI is what is expanding on it, so there isn't actually any meaning or connection to any of the other ideas.

Maybe make a different kind of game? A game that relies on writing made with AI is not attractive at all. I think the person who replied a quiz game has a good idea, but even then that is something you can code on your own.

pedro ur fridge is so loud is it ok

beautiful game. the ending is so gentle and nice. i hope lera is happy forever :)
