Hello itch.io community!
We are introducing 1675, a single-player sailing and coastal trading game set in the seventeenth-century Mediterranean. Our public development page is now on itch.io: https://1675game.itch.io/1675
Your boat is your home, and the coast is your road. You begin aboard a lateen-rigged llaüt and progress towards larger vessels, choosing your own routes through a world based on real geography and bathymetry.
The gameplay trailer shows physics-based sailing, wind, waves, rain and storms, in first- and third-person views. Historically researched ports, starting with Santa Pola, give the voyages a human setting. Trading, rescue assignments, local reputation, survival and the threat of corsairs shape the wider game.
The game is in development for Windows, with a target release in 2028. There is no public playable build or demo available yet. This is an introduction to the project and its development, not a playable release announcement.
Watch the gameplay trailer below. We would love to hear which part interests you most: learning to sail, trading between ports, or exploring the historical Mediterranean.
You can follow the project on itch.io for development updates. More information and screenshots: https://1675.date/
Thank you for taking a look!
