I'm afraid she can't be saved, mostly because creating a new set of sprites/portraits for her would have been too much work and I just wanted to get done with the game.
I did consider making her some kind of supporting character that would eventually escape with Lucy in the end, although that would have drastically changed the plot. Also, her head is an edit of Lucy's head, so technically, Lucy is looking at her own head
