Will the game truly just be entirely text? Not that I mind, I love reading, I'm just curious since I like to imagine what I'm reading with at the very least a base for my mind to go off of. Speaking of that, are there any references I can view or is the game entirely made up and original and it's all up to my imagination?

With the exception of bad end artworks, there are no set-in-stone plans for artwork. If I have time and can find artists I'm happy with, though, there may be other bits of the game that are illustrated as well, post-1.0.
In terms of character references and the like, aside from characters based off of a few friends' characters, they're all original.
