Sample Project:
I had added the plug ins and turned on the plug ins in my own project, but hadn't in the sample project. The sample project is now working :D
My Project:
With the sample project working I copied the plug in (with it's working settings) from the sample project and pasted it into my project to replace my poorer attempts at the plugin settings - and it works!
I'll have to go have a play and see if I can edit it now without breaking it :'D Thank you for all your help.
