I found how to get the leg (click see more to find out how), but I reached the body again after attaching the leg and then dying to the final boss, AND THE LEG WAS GONE
Leg is found by bomb boosting over the gap at the end of the second level (need explosive weapon), then blasting a hole in the wall after jumping over the gap, and then there is a robot that you can rip the leg off of.
