How do I get past the tree trunk

But I currently don't have the blue light for something new to be harvested. This is the basement that is right next to the ladder that gets to the ruins right?
There's a chest (inside the place where you also found the book of recipe). It doesn't glow cuz it's a chest but it has what you need.
