I don't know if Louhi's a big manipulator and has me in the palm of his hand, or if he's really sincere. I felt so sorry for him when I heard his story, it's really sad to tell someone to kill themselves because of who they are, especially in Louhi's situation where he has no control over infecting other people or having this gift. I wonder why his gift is the only one in his family that's different... But it makes me sad that his own family has simply isolated him like this.

I feel like he really tries to get some kind of approval and positive feelings from his patients because he didn't get it from his family (family issues are so common lol) but he ruins other people's lives, he kills them, it's so complicated! I just wish Louhi could find a way to be happy :(

Thank you so much for commenting! It means a lot to me! So, about Louhi, it's both at the same time. He's very sincere about his feelings and struggles. He really is suffering and is very moved when the protagonist accepts him. But he's also a big manipulator. Although he's not lying when he says that he suffers a lot, he also wants the mc to feel bad for him and get their sympathy. It fuels him when someone validates what he's feeling. He's very needy and really craves attention, affection, appreciation and being coddled. And he thinks he'll get all that by making people feel sorry for him. Not gonna lie though, he became a closet narcissist due to the treatment he received from his family so he's always playing victim and is unable to ever see himself in the wrong. Deep down he knows that his existence is hurting people and if he really cared abour their wellbeing, he'd just isolate himself somewhere far away from human civilization. But he can't stand to be alone so he copes by believing that he's a benevolent doctor with the mission of taking care of humans and denying that he's a selfish creature that hurts people.

I also feel very feel sorry about him. Although I wrote him to be a pitiful character with a tragic existence, I'm honestly surprised that I managed to make you feel sorry for him. I think you're the second person to say that you feel sorry for him. The reactions to him I mostly got from people were that he's terrifying, a creep, different of other yandere guys, not the yandere they were expecting or not the player's favorite type of yandere for different reasons. One of the players who posted a playthrough on youtube absolutely despised him. They thought he's extremely annoying/aggravating, totally unlikable, narcissistic garbage/weak character. Not gonna lie, I didn't write him to be that unlikable, instead to some extent I wrote him to make people pity him and feel conflicted about him. I guess my writing failed to make people feel that way about him.

Louhi is one unlucky guy. His gift is the exact opposite of his family's. Sometimes, but it's rare, an upir child will get superpowers that are the opposite of their parents's. Louhi was just extremely unlucky. It's very sad that his family got rid of him because of his defect. In their point of view, Louhi is a burden that would get in the way of their missionary work and ruin their business/mission/tradition. They were thinking about the wellbeing of their patients so their priority was to protect the humans they cure and exile Louhi as far away as possible to minimize the damage his destructive powers caused.

Yes, he definitely tries to get approval and positive feelings from his patients because he didn't get it from his family. Actually he tries to get everything from his patients that he didn't get from his parents. His patients are his reason to live, his source of survival, his emotinal supply, the preys he leeches on. His life turned him into an emotinal vampire that will suck the soul out of everyone in his path until there's nothing left. He's frequently told by his patients to kill himself once they find out about his true nature, that he's the cause of their pain and sickness. He still hasn't gotten used to it though and always has an emotional meltdown when it happens.

Same. Louhi is a serious danger to human society and should be exterminated for the sake of humanity's safety. But I also feel very comflicted about his actions. I too wish he could have a happy ending, but that's impossible. He's as doomed as his victims/patients.

Oh, I understand how you feel, but I don't think it's a problem with your writing, I think that each type of yandere, as well as games, universes and so on, has its own target audience, its niche that will love it and interpret it the way you want or more than that (like me :3) I know yanderes who are worse than Louhi, there are people who defend or love, in Louhi's case I understand him on certain issues and if I were the MC (I'm already in deep shit and dying) I'd try to help him in some way, like maybe try to find out if there is a cure? Something to control the effect of his virus? Who knows! Even try to get into his head somehow so he can isolate himself forever, so yeah, the famous "i can fix him" lol

You've written him well, and if you intend to continue Louhi's saga, I'm sure that depending on the path you follow, how you develop him in the future and even the story and our choices and endings, Louhi may be seen with different eyes, or even as you wanted him to be seen, you never know. Like, I find Louhi very pushy and invasive, out of nowhere he kissed me wtf, and even bathed me, but I'm easily manipulated and I feel sorry for him because it can't be easy being a fucking parasite who just needed his fucking family to accept and love him, maybe even try to help him in some way.

The acts he commits may not be justified, but they can be understood (I think so) the worst thing is that he doesn't see or doesn't want to see that he's doing EVERYTHING wrong, but it's to be expected that Louhi has a disturbed mind (if not, he wouldn't be a yandere lmao) Anyway, I really liked everything, and I really hope I can see more of Louhi, or maybe other works, in the future <3

I really love your comment! Comments like these are what motivates me! Not gonna lie, I really felt disheartened by one of the critics I got. Aside from saying that Louhi is a weak character, they didn't like how the choices didn't have immediate impact on the story except which ending you get. The thing is that it's a conscious choice. When you're stuck with Louhi, you're in a hopeless situation so you have to feel helpless and like your choices don't matter because he can't take NO for an answer. That's the entire point of his character. He wants to have full control and access to you and how would I be able to convey his controlling and entitled nature if he listens to you when you tell him NO?

Now I see that you're right that each yandere story and universe has its own niche. At first I thought that the yandere fandom was a whole single niche so I thought that everyone who likes yandere characters would enjoy my story as long as it was a story with a yandere character. But after releasing my game, I found out that I was wrong. Even inside the yandere fandom there are different niches, people with different tastes in different types of yanderes. So even if someone likes the yandere trope, that doesn't necessarily mean they'll like a yandere character like Louhi. They won't feel bad for him at all, more likely they'll think he deserves everything he gets because of his insufferable narcissism and victim complex.

One of the reasons I created Louhi is because I find most yandere characters in the fandom too tame and harmless for me. I wanted to create a really messed up yandere who violates all personal boundaries and poses serious danger to the mc's life. I don't know many yandere characters that are worse than Louhi, but there are some I personally can't stand, but most people love them.

I'm very glad that I could get Louhi's struggles and feelings through to you, even if it's just one person. Louhi would really appreciate you trying to help him. I haven't thought about that yet, but maybe there could be a cure or something that could put his disease-spreading powers under control. Maybe with love and patience you would be able to fix him lol

Again I'm really happy that you think I wrote him well! It means the world to me to receive comments like these! I'd really like to continue Louhi's story, but I also want enough engagement to do it. Even if it's fun writing Louhi, it feels bad to put love and effort into something just for my work to be ignored to oblivion. One of my plans for Louhi is for him to seek redemption for his crimes. Louhi is actually part of an universe I created where the upir and the sith(aos si, a type of fairy from celtic folklore) are in constant competition to see which race has more power and influence in the human world. I decided to create a short visual novel just about Louhi because he's my favorite character and to test my storytelling skills.

Desperation. Louhi is the kind of guy who proposes to you on your first date and invites himself to house to live with you. He just skips all proper steps to form a natural intimate relationship and go straight to marriage and having kids. Louhi's worst fear is being alone so he's always desperate for intimacy. That's why he's so invasive and pushy. He's not able to wait until he naturally develops intimacy step by step with someone. He wants intimacy RIGHT NOW to immediately heal his unbearable loneliness. He feels entitled to immediate intimacy with random strangers to heal his loneliness and will get irrationality furious at the slighest sign of resistence. That's how he works.

Yes, it's very hard to be Louhi. He wants someone to be always there for him, but everyone who gets close to him dies too soon. His family didn't want to risk having him around and killing more patients. They think it'd take too long to come up with a solution to Louhi's situation(if a solution really does exist) and too many humans would die in the process if they kept Louhi around for much longer. Notice another reference to his victim complex and never thinking he's wrong is when he implies that his family disowned him and kicked him out of the house because they're mean and didn't believe in his potential to follow their tradition, but he leaves out the important detail that they did this because he kills people around him.

Yes, I tried to write him in a way that people could understand his point of view, but at the same time trying to make sure that his actions are unforgivable and unjustified. It's his defence mechanism, if he viewed himself for who he is, as a monster who kills people to satisfy his selfish desires, then he wouldn't be able to keep on living. He's always in a state of denial. He really doesn't want to look at himself in the mirror or he would end up commiting suicide. But he doesn't want to die yet because he thinks the world owes him the things he couldn't get in the past so he won't give up until he's satisfied(which will never happen) and gets everything he wants and also because if he did commit suicide, he'd just prove the world that he's worthless and that his existence is meaningless. To counter the latter he tries to prove his usefulness and worth by continue living to take care of his patients. I think I at least managed to show people he has a very disturbed mind. Thank you so very much for your support and for liking Louhi! It means the world to me when people are able to connect with my creation! Thank you very much for believing in me and being interested in my works! Let's see what the future has in store for Louhi ☺️
