I mean yes, it doesn't actually show it in the game, so ofc anyone can think whatever they want, but my intent with that scene was that he does die 💦 (particularly as that scene would feel a lot less impactful if he was perfectly fine afterwards and kind of defeat the point of him sacrificing himself to ensure that Iggy and the others can make it to the castle and try to fix things lol)
