thanks for reminding me that i kickstarted FNF xd.

wow, this game is great! its a really nice reimagination of FNF and other 4 key type rhythm games! i got a little confused at first because i didn't catch the instructions the first time around (literally thought i was supposed to match what they were doing), but on the second go it clicked and it was really cool! maybe some subtitles would have been helpful (but its fine cuz game jam time constraints). im very curious how this game determines what is funky and what is bad, i want to know if im just bad at rhythm or have no remixing talent whatsoever (probably both though xd).

the overall presentation of the game is pretty nice too, i like the drawings and how it matches up with the environment, gives that blend of FNF and maybe even a little of Parappa the Rapper (even the gameplay kinda reminds me of it). the ui also isn't afraid of having some stylish elements to which is nice! also the music and the choice of sample sounds for our keys were really good, had a blast just keysmashing and calling that art!

this was a pleasant surprise from what i initially thought the game was game was gonna be, great work!

Thank you so much for reviewing my game! :)

To answer your question, the game only penalizes you if you're not on rhythm ["bad..."], use the same sound too many times in a row ["stale"], or if you just spam all the keys
Otherwise it shows ["nice!"] if you're copying the host or ["funky!"] if you do something unique

I probably made the hit timings a bit too harsh

Also, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the unused song [Moe song.ogg in the soundtrack folder]

Sadly I couldn't have his level in the game in time [mainly because I'd have to implement bpm changes]

nah, im pretty new to rhythm games, so probably a skill issue on my part xd.

also just listened to the unused song and ITS AMAZING!!! this would have totally been sick to add to the game, but yeah i understand the difficulty to implement it due to the BPM changes. but even by its own its really sick to listen to!

if you ever decide to continue with a post-jam version of this game, this would be so cool to play through!!!
