Stalls on Caching Thubnails (mac)

Hi all,

I just downloaded Asset Forge 2.2.0 for Mac and tried to grab a custom block collection.

I put it in the Collections folder in its own directory, shut down AF, restart and I stall at 'Caching Thumbails 99%'. This is not a large collection so I can't imagine it's really a question of having to process the thumbnails. Something's broken behind the scenes I believe.

As anyone else encountered this issue? Any workarounds?

Thanks!

Hey Ben!

Sorry for my late response. When it gets stuck at caching thumbnails it's fairly certain that there is something wrong with the collection you're trying to load, like a broken model or incomplete file. Hope that helps a bit!

I am also seeing this (version 2.2.1 deluxe on an m1 mac).

I have tried various assets (eg, the space kit also by Kenny), and some third party kits. They all result in the 'Caching Thumbnails' progress bar appearing (generally around 90% mark depending on the number of assets I've added), and then does nothing.

The files all look fine and can be previewed on the mac.

I could get it down to a single obj file in the folder. I checked all the file permissions to ensure the folder and file were readable too.

When I look in the Library/com.kenny.assetforge/cache, I can see all the normal png image caches for all the standard models. It contains a folder for each set, then a png outside the folder with names like `Aircraft\engine_capsule.png` (so the backslash is part of the filename, as macs use forward slash for the path separator).

My extra folder is there, but there are no images related to the models, so I guess something goes wrong between creating that folder and generating the preview image.

I hope this helps.

Thank you, I will look into this and see if it can be fixed in a patch.

I'm having the very same issue, also on Mac . The collection im trying to load is from your own site, so im fairly certain its not that https://kenney.nl/assets/furniture-kit, im copying the Obj folder contents into a "Furnitures" folder inside the Collections Folder

Just as OP said, i also tried only importing a single model from the collection, and then just the .obj or the .mtl , but all that changed is where  the "caching thumbnails" bar gets stuck at, 99% with one model vs 88% with all of them
