Interesting Concept. Looks like it didn't get finished duo to the Deadline probably? It definetly looks really nice from what we got currently. It's true, Bae is really slow while the Map is quite large in comparision but I'm down to play it again if new Updates gets implemented!

It’s a nice concept, I like the idea of turning Bomberman bombs into an dungeon-crawling type game (maybe it’s been done before and I don’t know).

I’m not sure if I just didn’t get far enough, but I wasn’t sure if there was a goal that I missed or time constraints cut out a lot of the progression. I think my only criticism that wasn’t design cutting into the game is that it seems you can walk off the edge of the map. Not sure how far you can escape but it’s out of camera visibility regardless.

Fun start though, I’d be interested to see more.

Nice concept! I do like your idea of mixing a cave exploration game like Terrira with Bomber-man esc type of bombs with multiple upgrades! Also nicely done on the procedurally generated levels, it can definitely help for future versions of the projects or other ones too!

I'm pretty sure most of the comments below covered my main thoughts of improvement, like movement speed or the enemy not being a hazard. One thing I was wondering if there is an objective or end goal for the game since I was going around unsure of what exactly I was trying to do. Even if it doesn't have an end condition, maybe making it something like "Making the strongest bomb to destroy terrain and find treasure!" or "Try to go through as many floors"! Would have been a nice little motive to continue playing the demo.

But for a game concept, I think it is a nice start!

I think this game has potential. I like the randomly generated levels and the different powerups.
Although, I don't know how many different powerups there were. If there was one to make the AOE explosion bigger and not just the lines that would be great!
Some improvements could be some other movement options or a faster movement speed to compensate for the fairly large levels.  Or the map size in general could be a little smaller.
There is also some lingering hitboxes from the explosion that caught me offguard a few times!

Mr squeaks enemies seem very non threatening. maybe they could have been faster or spread out some bombs more chaotically or even threw them!

But overall pretty cool concept I enjoyed.

Bae is Stuck in the cave forever with no end in sight...

I like the idea and can definitely see how you could expand upon it with more time. My biggest gripe is walking speed: it's really slow compared to the size of the maps, making it quite tedious to explore.

  • Bomb launcher was a cool powerup. I had only picked up power increase powerups and thought that was all there was so the bomb launcher caught me off guard.
    • Not sure if there were more powerups that I missed besides bomb power and bomb launcher.
  • Not sure if there is an end either. I got to the third world but did not find an exit. I was breaking blocks to see if it was hidden but didn’t find anything.
  • Also not quite sure what the dice drop does.

Simple little game. If there was a score or a ending I think it could add a lot to the experience. But alas, game jams are game jams and time is tight.

I like visibility of bomb's timer. Fun bug: you can walk under the map

Interesting mix of bomberman and mining. Upgrades feels satisfying to find, and overall a pretty solid concept.
I'm not sure what picking up the dice does though, does it do anything at the moment?

Thanks. The dice don't do anything currently. I was originally planning to have them as a currency that could be used to re-roll upgrades or buy upgrades that weren't available in chests.
