I too made a somewhat similar game in the jam within the wave defense genre, but I took more of a roguelike approach.

I'm also in the jam, and I know with more time everyone has a list of things they'd like to add or wanted to add. I try to provide the listed feedback in a constructive form to highlight different perspectives as a player and to show that I indeed did play the game.

  • There is little incentive to venture out.
  • Can abuse just slightly being in front of the door by spamming the spacebar to winning the game
  • I'd consider adding a dash key with an energy counter and then adding multiple doors to defend. This will force the player to be more engaged. With solid level design there will be times the player must accept taking damage regardless
  • ^ if this is implemented the player could pick up regen health from particular enemies dying
  • The thumbnail was simplistic, BUT this was a very good thing. It stands out from a lot of the other thumbnails and drove me to check out the game.
  • I'd also add some audio jibberish when the players are talking or start the background music at that point
